first ride '10 m8 what rpm's should i be pulling

took the sled out for the first time today and seemed to run good considering it had oil in the tank and 0 miles. on the trail the most i ever saw was 8060 and climbing was around 7900 max. i know that it will loosin up over time and also run better without the oil in the tank but i wanted to know what i should be shootin for. thanks

The clutching chart under the hood recommends 8100 to 8300. I have been turning over 8200 since the first ride. Today at 11,300 ft. with 63 grams I was consistantly turning 8330. I have about 180 miles on the sled and so far it seems to run stronger each ride:)

max torque is at 8100 and drops off at 8200-8300. if it were me i'd shoot for 8200 tops.

Just like the '07, shoot for a little lower than AC asks. 8100 tops (i like 7950).

Torque moves you and the HP band is very broad on this motor.

At least that's what my dyno has been showing. But it's only the feeling I get through my a** while I watch the speedo LOL.

Interesting. I guess the next ride I'll add some weight and see how 8100 feels and goes through the snow. Sure is nice to have cutler's adjustable weights!

Try a little less backshift pressure if you have that adjustability (not helix). I find gearing lower lets you do that and the gains are good.

Adding weight to the front if you have too much backshift just adds heat and starts to pull strings.

Sounds like a song we hear on here, Eh. LOL
