Nope, not ashamed, quite the opposite in fact. I also love to hunt, but can't stand when I get lumped in with a douchebag who has no morals or ethics, simply because someone witnessed, or heard about a "hunter" who did something stupid, or careless. The "I don't give a s#@$" attitude, does nothing but fuel the fire.

It's not about the tree!!! Man you guys don't get it, whackin' that tree out in the middle of the park looks bad, and it appears to be adjacent to the parking area , where everybody can see it until the snow is gone. The people that want to close us out use that stuff to sway the general public, and there are a lot more people that don't ride than do. I believe most of the general public don't care if we ride or not and will leave us alone if we behave. That stuff comes back to haunt us, like the couple groups that were running over wildlife and through peoples yards with their sleds a few years back, it makes us all look bad. I have sat across the table from Gallatin Forest officials who brought these kinds of issues up when I appealed their decision to close parts our forest. IT'S NOT ABOUT THE TREE!!, it's how we represent ourselves to the public. Nothing, nothing we do will appease the greenies, but we can't afford to let them turn the general public against us, and we sure shouldn't be helping them.

Or us against ourselves, as is the case here. And just for the record, that tree was nowhere even remotely close to the parking area, and nobody was trying to run it over. It was funny that the newby ran it over on accident, so he put it in the vid so we could laugh at it later. Then someone freaked out about it.

Look, nobody hates tree-hugging greenies worse than I do. If someone tells me how to ride, where to ride, how to live my life... they can KMA. That includes other sledders who think they know better than the rest of us. You go ride the way you want to, and I'm gonna ride the way I want to. If you don't like that, sue me.

After reading all the posts and getting a chuckle I actually watched the video. Was expecting teflon to have his sled against a 200 year old sequia using the track like a chainsaw to cut it down?


Then I see him glance a tree once...not even sure if he touched it the first time.


Really saddens me to see him being called out for something completely inconsequential as brushing against that tree. God forbid an elk ever get near it...destroyed for sure....quick erect a fence...put up some signs!


Sure you had the best intentions XXL...but sorry you missed the mark on this one. IMO


please do not watch my tree riding videos....you will have a coronary for sure.
