The Ford dealership closed it's doors 2 weeks ago in Eagle, CO.

Here is what my father had to say about this mess. He was a Government/Civics teacher, Football and Wrestling coach as well as a PT Professor for 34 years. My bolding...

We are too far over the edge. Does not matter too much who gets elected, unless we can hang on for a year and see big changes. The bill that passed this morning demonstrates how things are NOT changing. Packed with pork, and worse than the one last week, but voted in because Congressman do not see any other way. The political system is broken.
The reason why I am getting food and ammo together, is that it is coming and hell is coming with it. I thought I would not see the colapse, but now I believe I will. The rally point is Suz farm because I believe we can best survive there for awhile at least. Violence will be great. Food, gas will be in short supply. At least there if we get enough wood cut, we can last awhile. If you can get there try. I think the colapse will happen pretty fast. Banks will close, and credit cards and computer systems will not work. Panic will set in and then the shooting starts. You have read about 476 A.D. The middle ages followed for 1000 years. I believe we are witnessing the colapse of our civilization. The debt site says it all. This whole thing is a house of cards and it is coming down, when is the only question. That is why I am stocking up on food. I think it will happen within a few years, maybe sooner. The closing of dealerships is another indication. All is built on borrowed money. Everyone thinks I was nuts when I told them that mortgages at 110% of value was not a good idea. This great republic is going down. Sorry to be suck a bummer, but better start preparing. Now have a lovely weekend. I also am stocking up on Kesslers. There is a case in the kids basement. Later

And this statement comes from a guy that has correctly predicted every Presidentian election since Carter.

That is some wild reading. Can it seriously get that bad in the USA?

We can hope it will. Soon we really need this. Then there will be some real change that will stick and not politics as usual.

Well, I for one hope to God that we do not resort to shooting people for gas and food. That's true craziness. And I hope my Dad is wrong on that...stockpiling food and ammo? He's not a gun guy. I think he's over-reacting....but words from a man who taught literally 10's of thousands of students and was active in the MCCarthy era in campaigning...and he's just not wrong all that much.

Let me say this as well. Sleds are not selling much around this area. Nothing really is that is a toy.

updating computers $50/mo
cable/sat $80/mo
XM $15/mo
gym $50/mo

Then you take many of the above & multiply X family members
and add in crap like nintendo etc and at the end of the day we have received ZERO value from any of the above crap, yet we wonder why we are having trouble setting money aside.

We are going to see some poor fu(kers when all these folks get to an unemployable age with nothing stashed away for their "golden" years.
