So I had to share this quick thought. I recently built a 2015 KTM 500 XC-W Timbersled ST. I don't know anyone that has one, I had never ridden one and don't own a sled. I do ride dirtbikes and have since I was little and let's say it was a calling, the machine just spoke to me. The same thing happened to me in the early 1980's with a piece of shaped wood made in Vermont by Jake Burton. I started in the midwest on the original Burton backyard and we see where it has gone. That is exactly what is going to happen to these awesome machines. I think Timbersled set the bar and we will see competitors and many changes in the next couple of years but make no mistake snowbikes are here to stay. I live near Mt. Baker in WA state and this last weekend I headed out to ride my snowbike. I cant remember the last time I heard myself laughing in my helmet over the noise of the bike. These things are unbelievable fun and honestly it took 15 minutes or so and I was quite capable on it. I am excited where this sport will go and as I look back on my snowboard days I dont think anybody knows. Get out and ride one if you haven't yet!!!
