Finger throttle - can I flip my stock throttle around?

I'm thinking of trying a finger throttle this year. Pros and cons of flipping my stock throttle around?

Or should I just get a Munster?

One con. If it’s in a position where it gets pegged, the force can be enough where you can’t get your finger off it. If that makes sense?

Flipping the stock one around is a good short-term way to see if you like it, but it will never be as good as a dedicated finger throttle. If you're on a '24 or older Matryx, you'd probably want to bypass the TSS. The '25 doesn't use one and the throttle lever itself seems a better candidate for flipping to a finger throttle.

Munster is no longer the only option (besides the jet ski levers and other precursors to the Munster). https://kyber.one/ looks like it might be an improvement over the Munster.

for me, a finger throttle is far superior and have been flipping the stock throttle around for years. i removed the set screw in the throttle block and replaced it with a thumbscrew so it's easy to loosen and flip back around to the factory configuration. the best solution is an aftermarket finger throttle though. on deep days the flipped around factory throttle can get snow buildup between the block and lever so be aware of that.

I have a 24' 9R. Would do it right and get a true finger throttle.

Why are you thinking Kyper is an improvement?

Would I need to bypass the TSS if I got a munster or kyper?

Kyber has a good video on Instagram explaining the improvements. From my perspective, the important ones are the lever stop (instead of bottoming against the grip), a bigger guard, switched heat, and better attention to keeping the cable ferrule rotating smoothly.

Since the Matryx comes standard with the tether, it's not a problem to bypass the TSS, which you'll need with either finger throttle. The stock '25 throttle doesn't even have that anymore.

I would just be concerned about snow getting behind the lever after being a wide open throttle. I love my Munster and the cool thing is that there is a spot that the snow can clear out of and you can clear it out with your finger.

The Kyber is a rad looking throttle though!

TSS is a pretty important feature IMO... tough to want to remove that based on what it does in so many cases.

Go ahead and try it! It’s way too stiff! It was made for your thumb! That’s why the finger throttle was invented. The thing about the finger throttle is……you can flip it around and use it as a thumb throttle also and it’s a way easy push with your thumb and finger

One note on trying a finger throttle. Give it a few days before you make judgement on which you like better. I switched last year and it took about 2 days to get used to. I now prefer it slightly over the thumb throttle for a variety of reasons but can switch back and forth without issue.
