I sleep in my 24' haulmark all the time. The key is u need carpet on the floor and a small fan to help move air. I can run mine for 3 or 4 days on a 30 lb tank. I have tired sleeping in it with out a fan and I went them that same thing u did. Give the fan a shot u may be suprized.

It is all the crazy duct work. Heater is not nearly big enough. Poor design on heating.

Good point.

What if you put some of that spray foam insualtion on the ducts underneath the trailer? I bet you're loosing a good amount of heat through them.

Mine has spray foam on the floor ducts, one of the problems is that there's no air that moves through them.
The furnace has three ducts that come off of it,
1. Feeds the floor ducts.
2. Feeds the glove and boot dryer.
3. Feeds the little warming holes beneath where the clothing hangs and then works its way up to the helmet box. The only one that has any air movement is the one that goes to the glove and boot dryer.

I ran mine for two hours just sitting in my driveway. The temperature out side was around 25 degrees, The thermostat never moved off of 50.

Ridiculous, i bought it so i could quit paying for hotels so much but its looking like itll be back to that again

My trailer is not the Burandt edition, not stupid duct work etc... It will hit 70 degrees in 15 minutes, just like a good ice house. Only way of fixing the burandt one is to bypass all duct work and just let it blow from the front.

The furnace in my 28' b.p. is 30,000 BTUs. Suburban makes two furnaces that are larger, a 35,000 and 40,000 BTU. I'm thinking of going with one of them and then add a fourth duct that will just be vented through the cabinet. The first three will be hooked up to the existing ducts. The larger furnaces not only put out more heat, but their fans blow more air.
The larger furnaces have the same dimensions as my 30,000 btu unit and I think after I sell my old one, I'm only looking at $300 to $400 difference.

When it is cold I stand right by the glove box for a while before I take my gear off. It takes a while to take the chill off. It is half the heater it should be. You can feel the heat going down the diamond plate by the coat rack but it gets cold when it turns up towards the helmet rack. Glove and boot box works awesome. You can feel heat in the floor for the first half of the trailer but it is minimal. I think the trailer would warm up faster if most of the heat went down the floor. I have only had one other heater in a snowmobile trailer and it works way better. They weren't designed to be slept in so I think people were asking a lot. I do know that we don't get as much time snowmobiling and it takes longer to get to town because we hang out in the trailer longer. Nicest trailer I have ever had but I wish the heater was twice the output.

I agree nicest trailer and that they weren't going for people to sleep in but still you pay that much cash for a trailer you should see a better heat system that should warm it up to atleast 65 and hold it there no problem

I'm pretty sure the 34 goose neck has the 35000 btu unit. Have you ever looked to see how many 4" ducts are running from the furnace and where they each go? I think the Suburban installation manual says there should be a minimum of 4, I'm just curious if that's the case.

I have not looked but i will be this week

Well now I don't feel so bad...I have an American Hauler 27 ft with a suburban 35k furnace, it heats up to 70 in 25 minutes, I added some ducting and I think I lost a lot of efficiency, furnace is located nearly center of trailer, and just high enough off floor to allow sleds to pass by. 40lb tank lasts a long time. I would be mad if I had spent that kind of $ and have that poor of performance. For what they charge for those trailers they should at least stay warm, it does not take that much heat. Milk house heater keeps mine above freezing when its around 10f outside. I would register a complaint with the manufacturer. American Hauler is an inexpensive trailer, Trails west should be awesome not disappointing. WTH

kinda what i was thinking, just really cant come to it yet, just not quite sure on how to word it yet

They hopefully will have an update this summer to address this problem. Still the best trailers for sleds on the planet.

Those are real nice trailers. Hope you have carbon monoxide detector in there. I think if I was going to buy a trailer to sleep in, I would buy one with living quarters.
