Final sled decision...Nytro MTX or XP 146?

If you do get a Nytro, there a few must do's. Pre-filter material to cover the two large vents in the sidepanels and the two openings in the cowl(can buy it in an 18" square at CC for $35). Powermadd pivot adapter and riser(stock riser sucks), Snow Eliminators(stock boards don't evacuate snow), and if you're heavy(over 200 lbs) you'll want the 2100nm Apex torsion springs.

You will probably spend roughly the same amount of cash on acessories for any sled. None of them come with everything they need. Dont forget your safety gear. You might be able to get that into the deal. Beacon, shovel, probe, etc... Check out the "whats in your pack thread". Good point to bring up.

9600 sounds plenty high from what somedealers I have read are selling them for...offer less...maybe they will take it being season end shortly.

Well, I know some people won't completely agree with my decision but I've given it about 8 weeks of thought/research and pulled the trigger this morning.

Here's what I'm picking up tonight at 5. I'm excited.

08 Yamaha FX Nytro MTX
40th Anniversary Red/Black
Cover, skidplate, extra belt

Anyone up for letting me tag along anytime with the next two weeks?

Nice, you got a sick ride, just don't get to close to any turbos or you might catch the boost virus.............It's highly contagious this time of year and once you catch it you'll have it for life, as there is no cure. :beer;

If I was you I would buy something like this:

Let someone else take the depreciation hit. Get some riding time to see what you like. Get out and ride, swap sleds a bit with some people you ride with, enjoy the rest of the season...etc. If you find you want something different, you won't take near the loss selling a used sled at the start of next year. Unless your number #1 goal is long vertical pulls, any sled 600cc and up is going to be great to learn on and have all the power you need.

I rode with 7-8 XPs last week in stupid deep snow and I'll admit I'm looking into one for next year. Only saw one blown belt in the group and my own belt is on the verge of self destructing after that snow.

The only reason I would buy a yammi is to turbo it.

I think you made a wise choice. Ride the Nytro stock get used to it, if you feel that the 130 horse power is not enough down the road, you could turbo it.

You just screwed up big time. You will regret it. Just kidding. I want to ride with you so i can give that thing a try. Once you start ridding you will love it. Especially when the powder is deep and the sun is high. Congrats!

congrats chris...man I have to work this weekend..might get out sunday with the kids..you're welcome to come if we do go..but next weekend I should be riding for sure would enjoy the company....that is so cool..have ridden with a new nitro but havent ridden it...and while it wouldnt climb with my dragon and the 2 xps that were along..I was impressed how good it did climb..mike

If you feel the need for more power without a turbo, supposedly Fundy will have a 165 HP kit for under $1,000. If they realease it I'll be doing mine.
