FEEDBACK: Denver Expo

It's great to see the show get better each and every year! A lot of people work really hard to make that happen! I'm hard pressed to come up with something that I didn't care for. It was great to see more manufacturers support and some new vendors in attendance. Do we know how the attendance numbers compared to previous years?

I know that Saturday attendance was up 13-15% (a little uncertainty due to swap-related ticketing).

I haven't heard sunday yet.

2016 rocky mountain expo

i thought there were a few less sellers outside this year...not sure why? still was able to move some stuff. inside seemed busier than last year so it makes sense that the numbers were up some. overall, job well done!

jeff

ps. did anyone else get to experience the guy with the fluffy ears/bomber hat that said he had a revolutionary idea for putting a kickstarter on a snowmobile by using pulleys? still laughing/concerned when i think of him

Had a good time Saturday, got to see a lot of cool stuff and talk to some great people. Looking forward to next year.

SWAP MEET

I felt the swap meet is getting smaller and smaller. The best and largest swap meets I went to were when it was FREE at the Merchandise Mart.
I realize CSA needs funds to survive but by charging for the swap meet has killed the swap meet IMO.

I would suggest you charge just $10 for every trailer (reguardless of size) with a free ticket to the show and you will see the swap meet get bigger.
I talked to one guy who comes every year stopped this year since it costs $100 and he says he makes more money online.

I do not think anyone markets the swap meet. Last year I sent a email to everyone with a snowmobile ad on CL - This year I did not and it appears the swap meet was half the size - I do not know if that was reason or if everyone has went to buying online but clearly the swap meet needs marketed and the price needs reduced.

Just my 2 cents.

Jim did a great job on the swap meet BTW
BIG SHOUT OUT TO STEAMBOAT POWERSPORTS - GREAT JOB

Ugh, ME TOO! We invited them and saved space, but they didn't show up. I sure hope they do next year!

Correction. We were available- as stated in the e-mail exchanges with John P. : The issue is, although we sell nothing and we're there to promote the sport of vintage snowmobiles, none of us individual collectors were willing to sign a waiver, holding the show harmless of liability. No one in their right mind (as an individual, as opposed to a corporation or LLC) would sign such a waiver. If CSA signs for us, or the promotor mimics SnoWest like in Salt Lake's Show, then the vintage guys will come back. In the meantime, we're content supporting our local clubs, race organization XMR-Racing and grooming clubs in Colorado, where I've been a member of CSA since 1989. If your risk management practices change, we're more than happy to enhance the show. You can always contact us through www.avscc.net

You can create a single member LLC pretty cheap. Now, if they require you to also demonstrate liability insurance, it raises the ante. Just another way through the lawyering, tho.
