Fastest way From Jackson to Cooke?

Hello, I map quested driving directions from Jackson Hole to Cooke City and I think the directions they gave me are for summer time on highway 89. Is it faster to go thru Idaho or wyoming if I want to park in town? How long is the drive? Thanks

West of Jackson ( thru Wilson ) is Hwy 22 that goes over Jackson Pass. Check with WYDOT for trailer restrictions in the winter. Pick up Hwy 20 in Idaho ,then head north to West Yellowstone and on to Bozeman then east to Livingston and south to Gardiner, back into YNP and over to Cooke. Sadly, in the winter its about 3/4 of the way around in a big circle, since the roads are closed.

I wonder if this is the same road I accidently used last year with a trailer and got a $150 ticket and the scare of my life. Is it also called something like Teton Pass.

Yup.

Have to go back down to Alpine, back on 26 towards Idaho Falls. We usually cut north at Ririe (Idaho Slim lives north of there) and back west to Rexburg and onto 20 towards Island Park / W.Yellowstone.

How long to get from Jackson to Cooke if I can take the pass route and the weather is good? Do they shut the pass down just to trailers or trucks and vehicles to? Thanks
