EZ Ryde Suspension

Looking for some help. I just installed an EZ Ryde skid into my M8 and was (had the skid installed at the beginning of the season) riding up the trail and the rail popped off the clips and over the lugs to the left side(have anti stab kit on). Tipped machine on its side and pushed the rails back into place. After looking at the the rails it looked like the left one was bent outward. If you looked from the back of the machine at the clips like you were aligning the track the rail definitely moved to the left and was almost touching the lugs where the rail bends upward at the end. EZ Ryde sent me a new rail and I compared the two on the bench and they were both straight... Put the new one in and now the skid has shifted to right side. Measured everything I could and its all square. I know these skids move around allot so my question is to you guys running theses skids – if you stand at the back of your machine and eyeball the rails on both sides do they appear centered on the track clips? Would really appreciate any feedback.

Was this a brand new skid when you installed it?

The accuracy of the new front tunnel mount bolt holes is super important. If they are off as little as a 1/16th of an inch it will move the rear of the skid sideways a ton. That in turn will try to guide your track to one side or the other.

Another possibility, I had a bud who aligned his track like his bike and went off of axle position on each side. He had that same problem with his ezryde. When we adjusted the track by centering it while turning, he quit having probs.

Also that skid likes/needs to be run pretty tight.

I've been running an ezryde for about five seasons and have never had it jump off. It's a kick but suspension!!!!.

Good luck!

Skid is new and installed by dealer. Measured new mounting holes to old and to kick everything is right on. What's really weird is once I replaced the rail on the left side (as seen in pictures) the skid then sat to the right which baffles the s*#t out of me. Figured because this skid floats and has only one real connection point that it may have a tendency to sit where it wants. If you look at your skid does it sit to one side or the other? Thanks

Nope, only when the track is out of alignment.

skid mounting

When I install a ez-ride, I center off the of the drive shaft that way the track, skid ,and drivers are all running square. If the dealer used points on the tunnel to go off of it might be running out of line a little .

Dealer used the template provided by EZ Ryde. You bolt it to the stock mounting holes and then drill, seems fairly full proof...

losing... my... mind...

It is fairly fool proof when using the templates.

I guess i am not making myself clear. Dont judge the straightness of the suspension by the track. It can float from side to side depending on how it is aligned. Kinda like a sanding belt on a belt sander as you adjust it.

Since you are confident that the suspension is mounted correctly then we must assume its centered and your track needs to be aligned to the suspension.

I've used the same EZ RYDE suspension in three sleds now. If you have used the template the only thing I can think of is tighten the track and make sure it is aligned. Measure the distance between the track edge and the hyfax on each side right at the back of the suspension in front of the rear wheels. Like mentioned earlier you have to run these skids really tight. I tightened mine the first time to what I thought was tight enough and found it ratcheted.
