Ez ryde or holtz-Best JUMPING skid?

C

Somewhere between too dumb to quit and flat earth
I know that neither the holz or ez were designed to be jumped but that is what I will be doing with them. I am looking into buying a holz or ez ryde in 151-155” length. It will be going on a IQR 800. I will be climbing mountains no doubt, but climbing takes a back seat to jumping. Also, I actually need my front end to pop up and wheelie some because I like to spend my whole day on cornices jumping up or down them so I need my skis to pop up fairly easy.

What would you guys go with? I don’t think I like the timber sled at all. I am leaning towards the holz because its cheaper ($840+$350 for rails) and it looks to be more adjustable.

Does anyone have anything for sale or know of some one who does? I need to purchase a skid and have it on my sled with in two weeks. I also need some FOX shocks for the front. :beer;

Thanks to anyone who helps!!!

Happy, pm me with a price and i will think about it. I am getting sick of Walker evans. I just rebuilt my shocks on the rear skid last spring and they already need new springs and have a tone of sag.

I want to just build this sled right and i have the money to do it.

Anymore input on the skids?

if you're going to be jumping primarily, then why not use the stock skid with some longer rails and shocks valved to match? I have no first hand experience with the IQR or aftermarket suspensions, just throwing another option out there. I figure since it was built for jumping anyway, the skid should do just fine right? But then, my limited budget plays a role in my thought process as well...

I am rebuilding my stock skid and i will put it back on when may comes along but for now a 121 isn't cutting it....

There is no way i can afford a ez-ryde unless some one makes me a hell of a deal! I found a guy wiht rails so i think i may just order the old holz suspension.

I have an ez ryde 151 on an 07 xrs. It soaks the big bumps an jumps up as good as anything i've run. I like it way better than the holtz. It is exactly what you are looking for. I have not tried the new alpha holtz. I'm sure it is way better than his old coil over.

I have two IQR's built by Winter. Both run 150 camo extremes.One has an ez ryde,the other has stock rmk with custom valve fox shocks. The one with the rmk,will be changed over the summer to an ez ryde! Enough said.

if you have the money the holz alpha is the way to go it comes with a fox evol r shock in the back and would recomend fox evol r or x's for the front last time i checked holz had a deal on them. you can jump off a 25 ft building and land on concrete softly. they are a little expensive but well worth the money

Let me start buy saying............ I'm not speaking from personel experience, but, everyone I have talked to in person (not on the net) says"

Holz > good and Ez Ryde < good "

However the Ez Ryde looks much better (if that helps those jumps)

my .02 :beer;

first I would take off the flap. (sks in pow right:rolleyes:. thanks for the neg. then you really have to look at what you are landing in? your stock (IQR) cant take the hits? Maybe time for a Ski-whiz.

I rode a dudes rev for a little while, it was a 151 with an ez-ryde and the thing landed like i cant beleive.

i didnt huck the sled off anything impressive, but just hoping of a road cut on the hillside I was impressed how soft the landings were!! much better then my stock rev skid by a LONG ways.

I ordered an EZ-Ryde for my M7 last week and should get it any day now. I love to hit lots of jumps so after I get mine and get some time on it, I'll post my impressions for you. This is the first aftermarket suspension I've ever had, so all I will be able to compare it to is the stock set-up, but I'll post what I think if that helps any. I decided on the EZ-Ryde because it seems like most everyone on here says it soaks up the rough stuff better than any other, and I figure for doing lots of jumps, that is what will work for me. Just a couple cents.

go ez

I really didnt want to spend all that money on an ez ryde because i had no positive feedback on it, but i went ahead and bought it anyway... and man what a difference, i wish i had it when i had just bought my sled, before i was allover the hill bouncing left to right , not any more. and ski lift is 80% better its now actually controlable , and best of all , it soaks up all bumps & drops. just this weekend caught some nice air 70ft plus and cush. and drops all winter, still holding up . by the way i ride a 07 rev. this suspension could have save my knee a few years ago when i dropped off a 40ft rock so there you have it . my 2cents.

Got it together....sorta... When i was swapping the axel in my truck we had some issues so i didn't get around to the track.

Got the shocks on!
