EZ Ryde - 153"

Sold.

I have purchased a new sled and it came with a 153" ez-ryde skid and camoplast challenger track. I am going to run this sled with a 162" track and I want to run a different aftermarket suspension. So, the ezryde skid is for sale. I bought the sled and it had 1500 miles, I assume the ezryde has less miles than the sled.

The left rail had a crack in it so I decided to get it repaired before I listed it for sale (if you don't like the repair work, a new skid rail is $175). the repair is solid.

Price is $1100 o.b.o. shipped. that's less than 1/2 the price of a new one. Thanks

All current rails are a non-weldable 70XX series alloy of aluminum. You actually made it weaker by trying to weld it, as now the heat treatment is gone also.

Yes because at the molecular level you now have two cracks one on each side of the weld. Also aluminum gains more than half it's strength from the heat treatment. When you get it more than 300-400 degrees Fahrenheit the heat treat is nullified. With the original crack at least in compression it still had some strength. Now it's effectively a spaghetti noodle with two cracks.
