I bought the kit 5 years ago from the first owner. so the kit is fairly old since they dont make them anymore. you might lose a little weight but the ride is AWESOME...the rear shock is 4 years old and was rebuilt 2 years ago the front shock is off of a 1999 XC and is a factory fox shock also rebuilt 2 years ago....
So, basically by putting a shock with a coil in the place of the normal spring-less shock you eliminate the need for those 2 huge coils on each side of the rear torque arm?
Or is this a lot more to it then that?
Or IS IT that simple? Basically like just dropping in an ATV shock with the coil in place and you can ditch the rest?
Excuse my ignorance, not trying to downplay your skid, just looking for some clarification.
basically it is just installing a new longer rear shock and removing the tension springs. and adding some mounting on the front arm. you will completely be removing the stock rear shock lower mount. It is a fairly simple kit but works and rides GREAT compared to stock.
