Extending track from 151-159" on, 02 ZX.

I got the stock ski doo extros from a rev. I forget which year. The driveshaft is the same hex and they can be pressed on. I had the shop do that. Sled is a 03 700 highmark.

I was looking at my track tonight and there are more broken lugs than i thought:(. and from what I am reading here if i could find a set of 7 tooth 3.0 pitch extro drivers, and a 151 2.25 track it would fit no problem? there is no issues with contacting the heat exchanger? I was thinking i would need drop brackets to make it work. could i fit a 2.50 track with out drops? what would I have to do to use a 153? there seams to be a lot more of them around

so i gotta ask... why spend all this time and money to put a couple extra lugs on the ground? invest it into a head, or lightweight hood, or front end etc etc. I think there are better bang for the bucks out there than going from 151 to 159
edit: i just read your last post. Find a good used 151 if your track is junk and put on some extro's so you can run it a little looser

'02 and '03 should clear no swaet on 2.25.

2.5" lug on a 3"x7 driver might rub a little, but shouldn't be a deal breaker.

'01 and older were tighter up front. Supposedly 10mm. I don't have an older one here to compare against ratt now.

If you have stock track you could easilly just replace with a new 151 Challanger along with some extrovert drivers and notice night/day diff. And a lot less work!

going with a longer track will be cheaper than going with a head or whatever.

Like, i said, i dont plan on riding ole' bessie another year so I dont want to put a lot of money into her. 151/159 is what I wanted to do and I still might do it. I thought about going with a head, hood, front end, blah, blah, blah and thats not just what i want to do. :) I wouldnt mind it though.

Ox, I had an 02 x 151 and it had the setback skid and drop brackets but the non x's didn't if I remember so I wonder if a 2.5 would fit on a non X. 2nd I put the wahl extros on my 03 and It made a difference in track speed. I've had both the 151 X and 159 and Extreme 800's and unless the 159 track was dirt cheap I wouldn't go through the trouble for 4 extra inches on the ground. Find a 16 wide 151 for cheap and ride it till it pukes or dump it in a few years. Just a thought

"X" package in '02 consisted of stickers, one (?) J hook, stickers, rebuildable shocks, a seat cover with an X on it, a rear cargo rack, and a few stickers.

No structural differences. No motor differences. I have both here.

Not to change the subject but I have a 156 fully cliped and anti ratchet drivers I'm going to put on my 02 800 summitx that was a 144 stock what are the best way to go (best rail ext and big wheels)? Already have tunnel ext.
