EXPO West Yellowstone

So what will this years EXPO be like?
Knowing that over the past several years it seems to be spiraling down to almost nothing compared to what is was 20+ years ago. With Arctic Cat's new sled and Polaris's 850 will that be enough to bring it back somewhat? Last time I went there was lots of open spaces in the tents. Guess I will just have to wait to see what others that go think about it, as I don't feel like driving 6 hours and not be impressed!

Will continue to dwindle. Sport is shrinking every year. Bad snow years and high prices are slowly killing this sport.

It is the people running it. If that hasn't changed the expo won't change. Need the pro races back, have the freestyle and the concert and quit railing the vendors. Curious if Polaris is even going. If they would work with Jackson hole and have it one week off so people could go from one to the other. After you run something into the dirt it's really hard to get it back.

It used to be a premier event where you got to meet the likes of Blair Morgan, Kirk Hibbert, Krapos, and Chris Vincent and all the factory support came to Yellowstone...you had to book motels a year in advance...restaurants were full.. and the Expo was shoulder to shoulder people... You had Pro snocross (as well as semi, sport, women, and juniors), cross-country racing, radar runs and drag races. It was a fun filled couple of days...

I always have to brag too... our middle kid took on and beat a kid on a Cat from back East in one of the qualifiers for the Juniors II class... the kid on the Cat? None other than Kirk Hibbert's son...Tucker

Im guessing this year might have a better turnout as we have had an amazing snow year here plus new Polaris and Cat products.

Also, this year the exhibits are outside which im guessing lowered prices. Maybe more vendors will be out

I would expect an above average year if for no other reason that we have LOTS of snow in town for the first time in AGES.

I remember the days when we had to get rooms a year in advance, it was an event! Them were the days.

Almost every bar had live music at night. The internet has taken some away and also the need for less aftermarket parts on a sled to make it better. Used to be if you wanted to see the new iron you had to be there now there are videos pics and spec right at our fingertips.

^^^ THIS... I've gone the last three years, and frankly it's a yawner. The promoters of this event (if they even have one) are doing a poor job, and should be fired as should most of the members of the Chamber that think there doing a great job. Come on, really ? If, at this point your still wondering if all four manufacturers are gonna show up, well it's already failed as a premier event. They should reconsider the dates of model release, maybe move the release dates up a couple of weeks and hold the event in late February, or the 1st week of March. Also try to get with ISOC and move the Jackson event to West for the show... Doubt that'll ever happen, and also doubt I'll show up for any more shows, it's become a waste of time and money

Thats a fact, they treated vendors like dirt, did not listen to constructive thoughts. Offered little for a lot. They did give us lots of water in our booths, nothing like rain on your displays. It used to be a blast, then turned into a PITA to work, finally making it the event to miss. and be glad you did. It really is to bad,So much potential and history, they drove it into the ground.. Just an opinion from someone who paid the price for years.
