Exit shocks...x1 or x2?

Going to order a set of Exit shocks from Zbroz eather tomorrow or wednesday. Trying to figure out if the x2's are worth the extra money. The adjustable rebound would be nice. Just wondering if anyone has any input before I place my order. thanks

I think it depends on your riding style. I have the adjustable ones and love them. But most the time I don't need to adjust them unless it's super icy or super soft snow. If you like to tinker and can notice small changes in shock goes with the adjustable rebound. If you want to ride and forget about your set up then run the Standard shocks. They are way better then stock either way.

What snowbound was saying....Cannot go wrong either way. Just a preference if you want to be always adjusting(or if you even have the need to) or just the non adjustable ones. either way they are going to be set up for your weight and riding style. Most everyone cannot afford the adjustables and the ones that do get the adjustables, not everyone has the know-how to properly set them up.

When placing your order you let him know your weight with gear, type of riding and conditions he will set them up just right. Just a matter of how deep your wallet is and if you really do need the choice of adjusting.

Most who get them just set them once and forget them. I on the other hand being a flatlander run into different terrains going from trail type riding/hitting the jumps/running deep moguls/etc. so the all around adjustability pays off for me.

EDIT- I run into a few guys on the snow with adjustables and they complain the place they got them from didn't do a good job. So I take some time and ask them what they did since getting them, how the set them up for there ride. You'd be surprised how many just said they get them in, put them on and left them. Hence the crappy ride. So give them a few pointers and next time on the snow they come up and said made the ride that much smoother.

I bought a full set of Exit Shocks at the Jackson Hole Hillclimb. I was prepared to spend the money and buy the X1. I do not remember his first name but I spoke to one of the Zollingers and he asked me several questions about how I ride, where I ride and the type of snow I most often ride in and how aggressive of a rider I am and so forth.

He recommend I get the X0 on the front shocks, I just assumed he would go to the top of the line to sell a more expensive package.

It is well worth your time to talk to them and tell them what your expectations are before you place an order.

I can't wait for snow because I didn't have any riding after I bought mine!!

thanks for the input guys. I do mostly backcountry riding on the east coast. Normally have to ride some groomed trails to get to where i want to ride. So i see all types of conditions in a days ride. i dont mind spending a little time tweaking my shocks, but i prefer to ride once I get them set close. Most guys claim nate is great at getting the shocks setup to your liking, and in most cases very limited adjustment is needed once u get them. The more I think about it, it sounds like the X1's are maybe all I need. The money i save vs the X2's can be spent on a few days of riding.

I think you mean you just need the X0's and save money on the X1's. There are no X2's that I know of.

X2 ^^^. Nate is a great guy, and there are others you might deal with as well. Never had as good of a shock setup as when they did mine a couple years ago. They give you exactly what you need and they hold up great. Performance and customer service was awesome.

i dont see a listing for the X2 shock but i know u can get them. The x2 comes with adjustable rebound and compression, the x1 with adjustable compression and the x0 has no adjustablity from what i understand.

That is correct

Well I was just talking to Nate and he talked me into the X1's. I ordered a set of front x1's and rear skid x1. I should have them in a couple weeks. Have always run stock shocks and just did revalving. Everyone claims these Exits are night and day compared to the Fox stuff I have been running. So lets see what a couple grand can get me :face-icon-small-ton

I did not know that!

Glad to hear. Money well invested. You will be grinning ear to ear once you get to ride them. As someone stated earlier, there are a few shock techs out there who knows there stuff. On properly set up shocks will be night and day difference weather it be revalved stock shocks to your specs, or aftermarket shocks with the goodies set up for your riding style. Can't go wrong either way, a bonus is you will be able to get them serviced and continue using them for the life of your sled and maybe another new sled afterwards if they are similar shocks(provided you do not run into any trees of course).

You went the rite way with the x1. I have been riding them for 3 years and will not go back to anything.

You'll love them!! I thought I'd share my experience with them (still have them actually) though. I bought an EZ-Ride rear suspension for my M7 several years ago. It came with fox zero pros brand new never been ridden on. On my first ride with the new skid, I could not believe how much better it was over stock!! Unbelievable difference, it soaked up the bumps like no other sled I had ever ridden on. Strangely, towards the end of the day, it didn't seem to feel as good of a ride. I figured it was just that I was getting use to it and it wasn't as noticeable of a difference any more. The 2nd ride, I couldn't believe that it just didn't feel very good any more. I checked everything out and everything was fine, but the ride just wasn't what it was. I had already kind of planned on upgrading to exits since EVERYONE had said what a difference it made, so I got a set of X1's. Immediately the ride was unbelieveable again, night and day difference, and at the end of the day it was still unbelieveable. The fox shocks still looked brand new but they simply didn't perform like they did after just a few hours of hard riding, so I sold them. The exits several years later still feel unbelievable to me. They've got my business.
