How do you remove the exhaust studs from the cylinder on a 2006 M7?

Can you just screw two nuts on to the same stud tighten them together then unscrew the stud?
put a little heat around the base of the stud and they'll come out a lot easier.
X2 this works good.
Double nut for sure. But some are put in with locktite. Heating aluminum is iffy at best. To remove them heat the stud itself with a torch (not red hot) just good and warm. (It is hot enough if water sizzles)
Quickly put a thick wet rag on the stud, the heat will run from the rag and shoot into the cylinder. Quickly unscrew the stud.
Works everytime.
