Evo boost tubes

Any install tips. my boost hoses are the biggest pain in the *** job I've done on the turbo install . Also any insight on the fuel pump swap?

Is yours a 2012? I think I remember Jim saying something about two different size throttle body's in that year because I had to have him send me a different clamp because I couldn't get mine on. I reused the worm drive. I did get the hose on though with some effort.

I had some trouble with mine getting on to the throttle body also. Had to put it in the exhaust bender and expand it alittle bit while adding heat then let it cool down to keep some of the shape. It was a pain but I got it. Some of the clamps are too wide too where they sit on top of the edge and have a possibility to slide off so I trimmed 2 of them up to they sit past the raised edge on the throttle body so they can not slip past. Right now Im having trouble fitting the bottom boost tube it seems to want to kink and not fit right. Idk what im doing wrong with it. Anyone else see this or does it go away once its warmed up a bit and reshapes itself?

I been having the same problem super hard to get the boost tubes on, I ended up just leaving my stock boost tubes on. My dealer can install the evo boost tubes after their done doing my head studs.

I noticed your from gp is Pete from northgate installing your stuff for ya?

Cat did change the diameter of the throttle body intet at some point during the year last year by 2-3mm. The early ones are easy to get on, the later ones and 13's are a pain. A lot easier if you do it with the steering tower off and lots of lube, like when you do the head studs.

Yes had the same problem last April, may with my tube the tb, was 3 mm to big, take to Jim a few times about this, he even sent me a new set ( no charge to me ) and he tested them on his sled and would fit but my 2012 did not.So I took a file to my TB and filed off 3mm (the big lip) and now no problem

I bought my sled from vernon motorsports who is a top notch dealer they been building yamaha turbos for years. They are taking care of my head studs at the moment, did all my BC kit install myself except for head studs. These boost tubes are the hardest part!

I did additional trimming on the bottom so the hose could clear and not rub- but the angle is not allowing a full breathing ID from the appearance.

I haven't had any problems with the bottom charge tube fitment. The bottom tube was designed on a stock machine. If it is used with the intercooler fan kit, the tube end that fits on the intercooler must be trimmed a little in order for it not to kink. This is because the intercooler is raised up on one end for the far to fit which puts the inlet at a slightly different angle.

Very rare they just slide on. Most need a trim on the inside of hose. I have never not been able to get one on thou. Worst one was mine of course, had to remove the throttle body. We're a little stubborn over here lol.
As far as the bottom hose they usually benefit from an enlargement on the hole thru the plastic. Either on the top or the right side. Also cutting roughly 1/2" off the hose end is the ticket. Takes all the kinks out. It tests your patience when you just want to ride lol.

Yep. Same problem here. Almost gave up and sent them back. Tried lube and still nothing, ended up with a little heat, two people, brute force and sevel "F" Bombs.

My bottom tube went on easy.
Profusely sweating and cussing trying to put the top one over the throttle body with brake clean.
I think I will try trimming in the morning.

Done....

Trimmed the inside of the hose diameter with razor & add lube.
