ethonaol enriched gasoline

i have a 09 m8 and i normaly fill up with 87 octane from fas gas but i ordered a head kit that wants 91 octane. i want to know if i can or should run the mohawk 92 ethonaol enriched gasoline? they only make 90,92,94 octane but all with 10% ethonaol in them?? what should i do i live in british columbia. i have heard that our 91 octane gas might not be what they claim..i just don't want to blow up my motor.. can someone teach me about this..

You should be fine with the 92 W/10% Ethonol. Ethanol has 113 octane.

Most problems are associated with its higher corrosive nature.

Just picked up my 09 1000 today at Transport Honda. Al told me not to use shell or mohawk gas because of the enrichment, use premium @ PC. I'm gonna look into it...

What about chevron??? And ive used shell 91 with my SLP pipe with no problems..

transport honda told me that i had to run 91 octane on my 07 sled.. a bunch of jokers beacause 87 is recomened for best performance..i only buy sleds from northgate honda way better service and well lets say thier service department rocks..they won't screw you over...thanks for your input i will accept any bit of advive good luck dealing with the service side of things there.

why not 87

The stock sled was made to run 87 .Will run worst on high octane.besides 87 is the freshest gas anyway.If you run at high altitude it does nothing anyway....

If the head klit requires better gas thats what ir requires Powder king and Pine Pass assuming that is where you do most of your riding is not high elevation sledding... maybe if you were down in Utah or Colorado you would get away with 87. Fill up at Chevron in FSJ they do not put Ethanol in their fuel.Why risk your engine over 7 cents a liter

we have a chevron?? where is it also i got rk tek to build the head for 91 octane maybe i can get away with running a little more like 93 if i can find it..

My bad I'm not sure what I was thinking . either the Huskyor fast gas has there has very low ethanol or none I am not sure which one. As well the Petro Can in Chetwynn which is filled with Husky fuel has no ethanol. Sorry about that.

no problem.. so basicaly what you are sayin is run petro/shell/husky/fasgas/safeway 91 octane fuel should be fine?? how about mixxing in a little c12 race gas everyfill..

I dont think you will need to run any race gas if you are just running a rkt head. 91 should be fine, if your worried and you have access to 92 or 93 run that but no need to spend the extra money on race fuel if you dont have to.

where is this ethonal wire?? on a 09 m8!! when i unplug that i should have no problem using 92 or 94 with 10% ethonol??
