If we dont get SERIOUS about throwing out politicians and demanding action from the other bureaucrats, this will NOT get any better!!!!

This preceded yesterdays senate vote to prevent more domestic drilling...so, if we cant drill and we cant refine...we are SCREWED!!!!!!!!

That is soo true!!! Under our current policies and rules our government cares nothing about it's own citizens and only cares about big money in taxes and helping foreign countries out of their crisis's. What a friggin joke, to say the least.

The republicans were the ones that brought up the proposal to open up off shore drilling as well the exploration and drilling in Anwar. Killed along party lines in commitee.

The republicans were able to filibuster a carbon tax on all buisnesses as well as anyone driving what the Dems deemed excessive, i.e. SUV's and trucks.

Plus we have some republicans that are too spineless to act for fear of being labled anti-green.

Until we increase refinery production in this country it won't matter how much oil is released. We don't have the capacity to refine it, this is what is keeping fuel prices up, that and a lot of speculation (that cost's will remain high).

It sounded like they didn't kill it, just stated that they were not using the latest clean technology for their plans. I am not sure if that is just rhetoric or not.

result is still the same...they did not approve it...if they intended to approve it, they could have given them benchmarks to meet...this is just stall tactic employed by bureacrats...

i guess you guys could always build that plant in alberta. We have a 3.5% jobless rate and we would like to see that get to 3%. A few hundred mill in extra tax revunue plus another hundred mill in employment taxes won't hurt us either.

I was REALLY hoping this kind of horse **** would come around to completley bite the Democrats in their asses this November, but it doesn't look like it is. McCain has placed his bets with the enviro-whacko crowd as well, despite the rest of his party being pro oil and gas.

What do they think Big Oil is going to do, yep you guessed it pass that tax right on down the line to the consumer like well, pretty much all business do with new expenses/costs. Remember when they came up with the ingenious idea of the windfall profits tax and enacted it back in the 70's?

Wow, that was brilliant ... not only did that shoot the price of gas sky high, it also caused hundreds of thousands of jobs of those who work in the industry in the continental US to be lost as the oil companies shifted their interests over seas where they didn't have to put up with such bull****.

THe greenies KNOW what is happening and what will happen. They are counting on it. They figure they can get people to be greener by making what they deem as anti-green SO expensive no-one can afford it anymore.
