you want the best ride, handling, and reliability get a 14 cat
2014 Assault RMK here and 2 of my buddies ride a 2014 HCR and 2014 M8000 153, we bought them at the same time
Rmk Assault, hard on gas, snow sticks on the tunnel, trenches more with the competition track in bottomless snow
M8000: Codes pop up on cold start, stickers breaks and peels off all the time, paint peels off the rails, gauges fogs and can't see ****, under cold condition shocks loses there air, thumb warmer doesn't work anymore, gas tank is hard to fill up, complain all the time that it feels heavy and handling is poor even though he has 4 inch narrower ski stance, the sled points downward to much and bulldoze snow belt slips in fluffy powder need an anti-stab kit for the track the pitch is to big, the track can actually rip itself through the front rails, goggle warmer does not work
HCR: same codes pop up once in awhile, stickers breaks and peels off all the time, paint peels off the rails, gauges fogs and can't see ****, under cold condition shocks loses there air, gas tank is **** to fill up, handling is even worst then the M8000 and feels heavier in the front though does not nose dive as much, bent tunnel on a jump got warranty and install aftermarket tunnel brace, need an anti-stab kit for the track the pitch is to big the track can actually rip itself through the front rails, goggle warmer does not work, doesn't climb any better then my assault even though it has a taller track, belt slips in fluff
now lets talk about there claim extra 5 hp
well I've race both on hard pack trail,
M8000 dead stop got killed from start to finish he told me he's sled was bogging then we race on a rolling start top end its not even close he does only 75 mph
HCR a bit closer but I still won every time by 1 length of a sled on a 1/8 mile then I would pull more and more away ,he top out at 83 mph I never check mine yet but I would say 85 mph +
OFC I'm a poo guy but this reliability thing is bull****
Sorry for all typos
