From years of being on a Ski-Doo, I have found the the Up-Grade parts are most of the time no better than the original. ....
Here is what I did about the bolt problem. I took one out and bought a stainless steel bolt. Stainless has about 2x the tensile strength of mild steel.
I figure, no sence forking out $70 bones for an upgrade when no one has even run this upgrade yet. It may be no better than what we had already. At the very least. I am out $3 dollars instead of $70.
If my fix doesn't do the trick, I will for out the $70 for the update once it has been

Deucer... I can see your concern and not wanting to pay and looking for a cheaper solution.
SS may have a higher tensile strength than MILD steel but we are talking bolts here... that is an engineered alloy.
The bolts in the 2011/2012 sleds are high quality bolts... very high quality in fact... Metric class 12.9.. expensive, hard, high tensile strength bolts.
In stainless steel. 316 and 18-8 have a tensile rating of 75,000 psi.
The grade 12.9 bolts that Polaris uses are 175,000ps tensile rated.
The new mounts are a system... with the new rubber inserts... not just a new bolt...The additional PTO side rubber inserts and a different design of the bolt are what improves this. The rubber inserts limit deflection of the bolts and "firm up" the mounting of the motor which, IMO, will also lead to less dynamic clutch alignment issues and contribute to better clutch performance and less belt wear.
Most of the sleds are NOT having bolt problems... certainly not enough to do a recall or update bulletin on it.
That being said, I think that polaris did a good job of making the new mounts "upgradeable" in the 2011 chassis for a very reasonable price.

IMO, you have put in an inferior SS bolt into the existing system... that could cause catastrophic problems in your sled. If you break one bolt, IMO, the rest will follow quickly... If that happens, you will have all kinds of things break and Polaris will not and should not warranty any of those items.
The new updated mount kit is inexpensive, and is a factory Polaris part... If you have any problems with those, they are a warrantied item as well as anything related to them.
Now don't get me wrong, I applaud your passion and creativity.
Many of you many not know this, but Super Dave3 is a veteran Polaris Master Mechanic... I'm sure he has his own 2011 Assault upgraded to the new mounts!!
He doesn't do things that are a "gimmick"...I've seen his work personally.
