Engagement Ring Questions

Hmm, think it really works more along the lines of this-

married guy= built in sledding partner, double the amount of toys, another pay check, half the amount of chores...
Very true.
When all my friends bail at the last minute my wife still wants to ride.
I never have to explain to her why I'll be gone riding all day long or how much the mods or new sled parts are going to cost because she's there when I decide that I need the mod or new part!
Also, they're much more fun when you stay the night at a cabin or resort when it get's late and it's time to get..."warm"!:D;)

Not all wives are like mine though and a lot of them will work hard to destroy something that you're passionate about if it takes you away from her too much.
If she sleds....Marry her.
If she won't sled....Spend the money on sled parts and run away!:rolleyes:

My wife bought mine online on an ebay store.

My brother inlaw went ring shopping to find out what his girlfreind liked and then found the same ring online and saved a lot of money.

Don't do it man !

Wait until she pressures you

I went through that too. 21 years together. Get married and now getting divorced after 1 year. 22 wasted years

Shopped for rings, found the same rings on ebay cheaper. Good purchase, bad omen though

My wife worked at a jewelery store at the time, so she picked it out and I just paid for it. Got a smokin' deal on the ring, but it has cost me a fortune since! lol

You are an exception to the rule. You still get plenty of your toys. I heard about your shop.:beer;:beer;

Ya but, imagine the toys that I could have with an extra grand a month!

P.S. I'll be up in your neck of the woods tomorrow, I have a 10:00 in Craig

Always think of "rule of pickup truck"...this is the rule that if something costs several thousand dollars you had better damn well be able to hear it when it falls out of the back of the pickup...If you can't you shouldn't buy it.

I would avoid buying something like that online....not because of quality concerns, but the minute she finds out you got it online, it's going to get her thinking.....Why didn't he take the time to pick one out in person? Am I not worth the time? Was it a last minute decision? Is he just being cheap?....trust me! The mind of a women will read something into this and the outcome will not be good. Go to a few stores, take her along to get an idea of what she likes, buy a nice ring. :beer;;)

even on drugs he brings out the correct answer I concur you will pay for it if you get it on line :beer;

Classic story!!

Do like I did. let her ask you and let her come up with the cash for the ring.

Granted to do so mean hand over the finances and cash flow control to her. At least in my case. it was a good move on my part!!!:D:beer;

Heard that the blue nile place online was a good store to go through.

One of the advantedges of buying local is the resizing issue, had to have mine done 4 times before it fit and it was free due to buying the ring there. Just something to think about.

Sheesh you sure do have Brant whipped like the family pig

Whapshhhhhhh Whapshhhhhhhhhhh! :D

Yup :rolleyes: Grandpa would be proud. Clean cut and placement!

I got my diamond from BlueNile.com and was VERY happy. It was a very high quality diamond for an exceptional price. You can pick whatEVER you want with them. They have an incredible inventory. You can pick the exact clarity, color, quality, size, cut, etc. They give detailed descriptions of the stones. You can pick just the stone like we did and have a local jeweler put it in a setting or buy the settings from them as well. We had the certificate and diamond checked out by local jewelers we trusted and everything was perfect and as presented.

Even Nate was impressed :D This picture doesn't show the fire and colors in it, but it's the best I got.

(P.S. My husband and I sled together and I buy my own sleds and "let him" buy whatever sled stuff he wants - so he thinks it was well worth the investment :-)

Just say NO, Dont do it. I had all the toys in the world and now all I have is a s10 pickup. Dont do it.

Ok I have other toys but make sure it the right one. Also buy a big f-ing rock. Every time some one see it at says they like it. It makes me feel all good inside for spend that much money on it. Also I only like to do things one. "go big or go home"

You need to get a tungsten ring for yourself, won't sratch or wear, stays like new for ever.
i was gonna get one of those! the only real problem with them is that they CAN'T be cut off at the hospital. so if you are wearing it and break your hand or fingers and go to the hospital, they may have to cut off your finger! no chitting, i looked into it, and went NO NO. got a nice titanium one instead

x2 on that ^^. Had to have my silver wedding ring cut off in the hospital a couple months ago. Hurt like hell. Can't imagine what they would've done if it was tungsten!

I think it the other way around. Tungesten if very strong and brittle if you drop them on a title floor they can brake.

Titanium on the other hand can not be cut off. The way I figured it out is I brake my finger and can't get the ring off. I better swing by work and machine it off my finger first.:D. I also have a titanium ring like the look way better. But for the 200 dollars or so it was I could have made one for about 25 cents.
