Anyone know someone who will fix my spring assist on my snowmobile trailer? I have talked to the manufacturer this is what they steered my towards. I live in Lehi, and just want to hire someone to fix it.

Any help would be appreciated I have spent my morning calling around to garage door places and no one seems to want to touch it.

I have a Mirage, it is the rear door with two cables that come down to assist. One side is loose and the other side is holding tension.

I would post this on the Trailer side but assumed I would get a better response from locals

Thanks for any help in advance.

Call Chad at Mountain West Trailers here in Heber. He has a mechanic that does trailer work for them and I know they have done assist springs in the past. 435-654-5755

My trailer did the same thing. I fixed it myself and it took about 5 mins. I don't know if you have the same setup or not. Try this...close the door so no tension is on the cables. Then loosen up the setscrews that hold the cable wheel to the rod. Turn the wheel by hand until it has all the slack taken out of the cable and then tighten the set screws. Hopefully this works.

Did the samething on my Haulmark. The cast hub can get loose and spin. Just be careful around the tesioned cables.

If you can't figure it out. PM me, in live in Lehi too.

I had one side skip over the edge of the pully when somebody got a ski stuck on the cable. I stuck a hydraulic jack handle in the cable bar, lifted the door until the cables were slack, and looped the slipped cable back over the pulley which equalized the cable lengths.
