Enclosed Seat/Bench Ideas ?

Does anyone have any good ideas for fold down bench seats or fold down seats in their trailers. Either made or bought. Lets see your pics.

There is a guy that races a car. In his 29' trailer he has the seats out of a 1988-2000 Chevy Truck. He just bolted a frame with wheels on it so he can move it around.
He also has a mount on the wall so he can attach it. I can see if he has any pics.

I have also seen a seats from a Subaru BRatt turn up from time to time. THey are buckets though.

i bought some folding "L" brackets from my cabinet shop buddy, screwed to the wall studs in my trailer, made a seat from 2x6 attached like a deck. or you could do it with 3/4" plywood. they fold down with a press of a lever and in the closed position only extend about 2" from the wall.

We usually sit around and get undressed have a few drinks and let the snow drop off the sleds. We use folding chairs now which are a pain. Looking for bench ideas. Lets see some pics of those benches you made ?

posting pics for me is a major issue as i am pretty much picture posting illiterate. do a google thing for folding L brackets and you will get the idea. i paid around $30 pair for the brackets, worst part was attaching boards to the leading edge of bracket. gorrilla glue is your friend here, back side of bracket is predrilled. if you use 3/4 ply vs 2x6 decking, this issue goes away. i will work on some pics when i bring the trailer home.

I found the perfect bracket. Supports 700 lbs when you use two. The best part they are 34 bucks a pair.

Thought i would post a pic of the finished product !

I'm sure ill piss a lot of bench makers off but here goes. I bought the brackets from Ace Hardware in the US. They are made by a company called Knape and Voight. They are called Folding L brackets and you can get them in white or silver. Ace only carries the white in 12" and 16". I used the 16" brackets. They are 17.00 per bracket.

I then bought 3/4 baltic birch plywood. It is the strongest plywood with the most amount of veneers. It is $65.00 for a 5X5 sheet. I went this way because you can get 3 benches out of a single sheet where as a 4X8 would be somewhat wasted.I used a 1" cap strip in the front and sides which makes it look thicker and also adds a little more strength. These things are solid !

After cutting, screwing and gluing and shaping i gave each bench 2-3 layers of Sikken deck stain. I did all three benches for like 150 bucks or so.

If you are in the US get them from Ace Hardware they are the cheapest. If you are in Canada and don't want to pay through the nose for shipping i have 1 set of brackets left that i will let go for 40 bucks CDN. You will save all the shipping. The first Canuck to pm me will get them. I was going to put 4 benches but three is plenty.

Cheers

SB

how do you like those ski guides? The ones that came with my trailer are slippery as He!! and I just know me or someone else is going to end up on their *** because of them.

The guides are from Superclamps. Spendy but work very well. Not slippery at all and you can walk down the ramps without wipin out. I looked into the Mountain Sports benches and almost pulled the pin on 3 of them but the cost with shipping was just too great ! They are nice benches IMO.

The plywood is Baltic Birch. I found it locally in a 5X5 sheet. I just doubled the front and side with 1.5" strips of the plywood and used glue and screws. 5X5 sheet is perfect for 3 benches. Using a 4X8 would waste a lot of wood. I had no waste for the 3 benches.
