Was south of you guys yesterday it was an epic day in the powder. Pretty bad when you stop and all you see is the top of the handle bars.LOL awesome is all I can say.

Thanks, I wish I was headed down there next weekend but I am going to Togwotee for 4 days to meet a group. Winter has just begun though so one of these weekends!!

Hey p-hog sorry for braking your taillight as I was trying to get by you on that one hill...tell Brent that is what you guys get for following us into some of the hotspots! Glad somebody got some pics of that freakish snow...I wish we had some from the top of Bridger that day...easily 45-50 inches of fresh powder....send me a bill....and keep that Polaris out of my range.

Was up there Saturday and Sunday was really windy on Sat. lots of snow. Sunday was way better visibility great snow.

Places to stay??

Hey guys,

A group of us are heading out to Encampment to ride in early March and we are wondering if there are any places that you guys would recommend staying? We would prefer having a kitchenette and being able to ride from our door. We don't currently have any reservations yet so if anyone has a suggestion please let me know! Thanks.

Down..riding from the door isn't really on option for there.. although the road is closed up to the parking lot its a crazy bad bumpy ride in the ditch with not a lot of snow from encampent up to the actual riding. We personally always stay at the hacienda or the blue moon in saratoga.. just got back today.. snow sucked ... We will be back up over presidents day weekend

Hey..I reccomend staying in Encampment. Its not a bad little town in you have one objective..RIDING.

Let me know if you need numbers..we stay at a little motel, its nice at 57$ a night. two beds. microwave, fridge.

Riding is out main priority. We don't mind any inconvenience as long as the sledding is good. We have been to the Snowy's for 5 or 6 years now and just looking to try something a little different without driving much further. Thanks again guys.

If anyone is riding near Encampment and sees a blue Ford Superduty Crewcab pulling a black 4 place enclosed trailer from IA, feel free to say hi.

It's actually called the Silver Moon and we always stay there - I sometimes call it the "Blue Moon" also but you won't find it if you try to look it up. I have stayed at the Hacienda only once - not bad just not my style. Maybe I'm partial because Silver Moon is almost as old as our motel, plus I heard they did some remodelling since I last stayed. They have several room options, decent prices, and the best part is close distance to the free hot springs (about 5 blocks) and the bars (about two blocks, if you're in to all that).
