Encampment got 3 ft. in One Day recently? Snotel says no

Heard from a friend that they received a huge load of snow in the past week. I've been checking the snotels around Laramie and it hasn't showed a change since Christmas. Am I reading it wrong?

i know some guys that were out there the night they got snow.. they reported 3 feet where they were in the madres. i looked at snowtell also and thouth the same thing till i saw there pics!! wow !

The "Old Battle" snotel site is located just East of the divide and still gets hit with the wind. So when you see Old Battle pick up 3-5" you typicaly will see 6-12" on the East side of the divide and even more up top.

The wind is so strong over the divide that when you ride your sled over the pavement at the divide the wind will actually move you and your sled across the road.

But anyway the snow sucks there so no need to come over... The Snowies is the place to be!!

In fact the whole west side of the snowies is TERRIBLE.

Stay on the east side.......WAY BETTER!!!
