Electricl dying problem!

My 2000 Ski-doo Summit 700 High Mark made it half the day riding no problems. Then just died! We checked spark and played with switches until it started. Sometimes if the hand warmer switch is in high or low, it will only rev up to about 3500 RPM and no more. When the hand warmer switch is in the off position, then it revs up no problem?! One time just after start up, the key light came on and blinked until i wiggled the tether cord. I pulled the tether cord off and quickly put back on many times to see if the tether post seemed bad but it would keep going as soon as I replaced it each time.
Some think the tether switch? Some think votage regulator? Any Ideas what the problem is?

Check the wires for grounding or open wires. Then check your kill switch. Mine did that ended up being a lose connection in the switch it self. Worst case mpem.

I have had this problem where the sled would go up to 3500rpm and not move this was the teather switch... but it very well could be your hand warms grounding out.. but you would think this would take ur lights out first as i believe they are usually hooked up on ur lighting circuit not sure if this will help but this is what happend to me.
