electrical issue on an 07

ok, so i need some advise and help from all you experts out there... the sled is an 07 600 rmk. i am having some electrical issues i can't figure out. my headlight is dim (basically not on), my gauges will reset now and then when idling, and my kill switch rarely works. and the brake indicator light on the dash stays on most of the time. but there has never been any runablity issues, just annoying electrical junk. i had the sled completely pulled down this summer/fall and check all of the wires for cracks/rubs/breaks. there were none. all my grounds are good. could this be a voltage regulator? stator? i would think if it was a stator it wouldn't run good? any other ideas? i thought the kill switch was separate but i replaced it and check the continuity and it seems to be fine, at the switch anyway? the biggest frustration is it isn't always consistent. sometimes all of these issues go away (but always come back) but i'm afraid it is eventually going to take out my ecu or stater which both are expensive. thanks for the help as always.

also i should add that i don't have a tail light. i pulled it and wired my helmet light into it. not that should make any difference.

Dim headlight? Dead gauges? I'd bet a case of beer it's the voltage regulator.

THOSE SLEDS HAD A RECALL I THINK, The wires on the handwarmers would short to the bars, the fix was to pull them apart and put black electircal tape under them and reassemble. good luck

thanks for all the info. i checked the hand warmers before and didn't see any issues. i'll check them again. might pick up a new vr too.

Hey PV, check out my thread--http://www.snowestonline.com/forum/showthread.php?t=196370 -- Sounds like you have the same problem I'm having with my 07' 600RMK.. I haven't ordered the new regulator yet, but mine was loose where it was mounted, so I figured it needed to be grounded.. After two hours of work, same problem.. Dim headlights and dash not working at all.. Previously my brake warning light was on so I'm wondering if that is a sign that its about to fail.

I'm also parting out an Edge mod, mine is a 03' though--wierd...
