Electric Start Removal?

Do you have to remove the engine to take off the electric start motor? I bought the machine with electric start. Its nice however, I bought the torque arm & push arm for the 900. The torque arm bolts connect to where the electric start motor goes.

If I have to remove the engine is it worth the hassel? Are the torque arm and push arm all what people say they do?

What year is the sled?? I removed one from an 05 and did not have to remove the engine. I did have to remove the 3 motor mount bolts from the left slide and then you can raise that side of the motor up enough to remove the starter. I also removed both clutches to make it easier to get to everything.. The primary is mandatory. There is one bolt through the bottom of the sled (through the hole that has the plastic plug in it) and then the 2 bolts on the left that connect the starter to the engine.. If you have someone to help you lift the engine once you are ready to remove, it would make this process easier, but I did mine by myself. Again, I only have done this on an 05 so not sure if the 06 is the same.. If you need anymore help just let me know.
