Electric Start, M Series

I have a friend who could benefit greatly from electric start on any of the m series sled, 6.7. 8. Does any one know what it takes, if it can be done and how good it works.

Arctic Cat does offer an electric start kit for the 2008 - 2010 M series 500 and 600. I am not really sure how much work it entails to install one but we did one on a F series and it was quite a job. They work well once installed. The cost for a kit is $549.95

In the 2010 Cat Accessories book it is part#4639-803 for the M5 & M6. The price is $549.95 on page 101. They are not showing a kit for the M8 & M1000.

That's cause the starter motor for those engines is a big block chevy Just kidding, I bet they get very little demand for electric start on the 8 and 1000, as well with the wider case it may not fit.

I think it reason there is not an option on the 8 and 1K is due to space issues. It would be a nice option though.

Sounds like the electric start kit for the 600 series M sleds will work on a 800 if you get rid of the suitcase and install a aftermarket can. Installed a Arctic Cat kit on my 1M 800, temperature below -5 degrees C make that thing a bear to pull over when cold.

Wish someone would figure it out though. I am getting tired of always having to start my wifes M-8 for her. Oh well I guess it could be worse
