EGT temps?

Getting my Digitron installed on my XLT. So what temps should I be running at for both exhaust and water?

Water temps, i personally like right around 100 degrees, some people like to run them higher, some lower. Definately dont let it exceed about 180 or so. EGTs are another story. Different sleds are going to run properly with different EGTs. However, i dont like to see anything higher than 1250 to 1300 degrees for more than a few seconds. Remember, the pistons are just alumunum, and thats right at the temp that it melts...

So I know on my triple that all three exhaust temps are not going to be exactly the same but at what point should I get concerned on difference?

You may be surprised, my 850 ultra usually runs within about 150 degrees cylinder to cylinder. A guy should only really be concerned if one is significantly different, say 4 or 500 degrees. The mag side will tend to read a little hotter than the PTO side given the coolant flow and positioning in the chasis, and the center usually somewhere between the other two. But there again, this does not ring true of all sleds. An EGT gauge is more of a watchfull eye that will report of a problem early on, than anything else. Get the thing together, tuned right using your plugs and piston wash as a guide, take note of the average exhaust temps, then just watch for anything abnormal afterward.
