Yes BigJake, but can you lift a 900 lb boiler? Have you ever worked in a store? Does your wife point guns at you? I think Mysterydouche still has one up on you. Why even try? He is just amazing, and his sense of humor is so original. And......he's still a douche.

I have to disagree with you..................

Douche is too nice of a word for him.:D

For some reason I thought of this.

I can't wait to hear what magicdouchemystery says about this.
Are you capable of discussing this without putting people that have a different view point down?

IMO, there should be more non-lethal tools for the police to use.. well non-lethal that work better anyways. Though, there are too many people in this world as it is, weeding out the crazies isn't a bad idea....

oh, and fryingpan is a great name too!!!

Sure, but when they start off by being disrespectful (calling these cops cowards) then I don't feel the need to be politically correct.

You probably don't even know of half the non-lethal tools we have.

tazers, batons, sticks, mace, bean bags, those net things, tear gas, other smoke devices, are the new sound weapons out yet, heat lasers out yet? Just guesses, what else you got?

A bigger question would be why weren't they used? It seems in reading the article that there was ample time to get the necessary equipment at the location.

Care to explain some things?

nah, just try and keep my biases and assumptions to a minimum... ;)

you got any response besides that?

Why of course, I owe you an explanation.

It seems to me that this was a dynamic situation where things unfolded unexpectedly. In my reading of the article it sounded like there was very little time as the woman was coming at the police. I mean seriously, the woman came at the cops with a gun! Now you wouldn't be a person to just cry foul every time an officer is forced to use deadly force now would you? And is it possible that this is a small department where they don't have the funding to purchase all the less lethal options? Or does that get blamed on the cops too? Maybe they should do carwashes or sell cookies to get more funding. But here is what gets old. Some people assume cops just are waiting to get into a shooting. It's just not true. I've been in countless situations where I would have been justified to use deadly force and didn't. When a cop shoots someone in the line of duty some people cry foul. But when a cop is shot it is considered part of his job. This cop would have been justified in shooting this woman the first time she aimed her gun at him. But he didn't, he retreated. She then advanced toward officers again! But hey, lets sit in our cozy atmosphere and armchair quarterback everything these cops should have done, based on the "facts" written by the media. And another thing, you can't rely on less lethal options because half the time they don't work. They are just another tool and are not foolproof.

It seems to me that this was a dynamic situation ...OH REALLY .....
Maybe they should do carwashes or sell cookies to get more funding.....ITS A BETTER ALTERNATIVE THEN THEM STEALING THE NARCOTICS FROM THE EVIDENCE LOCKUP AND SELLING IT TO KIDS... ... I've been in countless situations where I would have been justified to use deadly force and didn't...YEA ITS AMAZING HOW PANIC SETS IN AND MAKE YOU IMMOBILE ISN;T IT.... you can't rely on less lethal options because half the time they don't work. ...HMMMM...GEE THE TRANQ DARTS IN THESE PARTS TAKE DOWN A GRIZZLY DARN FAST....

i do really feel for the law enforment people in the situations they face often...but the graduates of the law enforcement can be 98 percenters...or 51 percenters..now that Denver and BigJake has given there views i have heard from the two that passed with 51 percent....again my respect and gratitude to those in law enforcement that achieved higher standards

Yet another post that made next to no sense.

Oh, and PS- I was the first one in department history to win 3 of 5 top awards: Overall academic, top driver and top gun.
Oh, and PS again- that was a lateral class of experienced officers from other departments.

I think your boiler is starting to hiss, go fix it.
