edmonton cop kills woman

Sounds like a cut and dry case of she got what she deserved. I am sure there will be many who blast the cops for the shooting even though the article had several civillian witnesses stating she had a gun.

If you're running around pointing a gun at everyone, that's pretty cut and dried IMO.

Maybe a suicide by cop?

well i ain't supporting her...but i do relize from reading the article..if the article is right...and we are all basing our view on the article...she walked around in circles and up and down the hall pointing and not shooting a single shot...she was a mental case ...and dealing with a person like that is what dogs are for...and now putting my self in the cops shoes.....with seven cops and only her in an alley i could have shot her in the arm....leg...hand....finger....etc etc with my friggen eyes closed...so instead of me putting myself in a cops shoes...those cops should put themselves in a mans boot..they were cowards...!!

just a matter of time

until someone made a post like this. brilliant.
go ask a state trooper what happens when they have a gun pointed at them.
The training of police forces across north america are apparently wrong if you believe shooting in the arm is the proper procedure when they have a gun pointed at them.

Sounds justified to me, they probably gave her more of a chance than they would had it been a man.

Yep, past history always predicts the future. So because this woman hadn't shot at anyone yet, it was safe. And yeah, think if there was 30 cops there. They could have shot the trigger on her pistol! Oh wait, YOU could have! Because you've probably shot a target a few times and maybe had a semi tight grouping so now you're an expert. But that target wasn't about to take your life, so your adrenaline wasn't making your heart pound out of your chest. Plus you didn't actually have to make that deadly force decision which is a huge weight to bear and only adds to adrenaline. You're a douche! You ask your wife if someone raised a gun at you if she would want you to pull the trigger. But no, you'll have some response because you're a hero. Probably have an office job where the most injury you have to worry about is a papercut. Oh wait, now I'm assuming things.....Keep up your keyboard courage.

well there bud...i have to tell ya that i have lived next to indian reservations all my life..ran bars, restaruants, gas stations and stores...and yep they have all been trouble from 22s to generally 303...the two guns they have most...and i have had to deal with them with the flat side of a frying pan many times...yep office job eh...now i install 900lb boilers...i think its your head in your arse...this woman was not much of a danger or threat..they walk into and are patrons of small community centers every single day in hundreds and hundreds of communities in the remote areas..store keepers and bar owners deal with them everyday...so stick that up your arse and just maybe know that many cops would have handled this very easily....always the RCMP in the rural areas in the Yukon ran into this stuff every every day..i just guess maybee they are made of better stuff then your guys and you

So because you used to tend bar and ran a cash register at a conveniance store and grew up around rez'z all your life that makes you an expert at law enforcement? Well guess what Superman? I to grew up around a rez infact 3 of them. I worked in gas stations and grocery stores and cleaned bars when I was a kid. OH also had a paper route. I now move 1000 pound pieces of equipment around for a living which I have done for 30 years. And I still would have shot the piece of dog excrament as I would do to anyone who pointed a gun at me. And no I wouldn't shoot in the arm I would put 8 in the heart and 1 right between the eyes and probably continue to pull the trigger 10 more times.
And like the Sheriff in Florida said when aske why they shot the person 49 times? "Because we ran out of ammo"

Sounds like she had issues, but I guess anyone that runs around pointing guns at people do. By taking her down mabye they saved her kids lives. Wouldnt want another mom kills her own kids story.

from what i understand of police training(i have several friends in the RCMP and various city police forces), they shoot center of mass, ALWAYS!!!!! what happens if you aim for her leg and miss, or you do hit her and piss her off, and she shoots back. go for center of mass, and drop the person. you don't want to get shot, don't walk around waving a gun at people!

Well Bud...I didn't know that I was talking to such a hero! Bars, restaurants, gas stations and stores? Sounds like an office job to me. And I'll bet you've looked down the barrel of a loaded handgun many times. Because you are a hero. And 900 lb boilers? OMG! Do you lift those by yourself? Or do you have a machine do it? I'll bet you are huge! And do little old ladies with handguns really go around community centers every day in remote areas? Gosh, here I am working in a metro department dealing with hard core gang members and occasionally getting shot at, but the real dangers are in the community centers! Who woulda thought? And I'm going to add the ol frying pan to my arsenal! I wonder if I can fit it on my belt? I really do have a lot of things to stick up my arse! And yes, the RCMP in the rural areas probably are made of better stuff than me. But you, BUD, are definitely made of better stuff. No go lift a boiler, you're still a douche.

You are correct. The only time you wouldn't is if you have a sniper situation and time is on your side. But with a handgun, always center mass. Except for magic8anddouche, he would shoot at a finger. The reason being is with all the adrenaline going through your body during a deadly force encounter accuracy goes down big time.
I could never forgive myself if I tried for a leg or arm shot, missed, and it gave the criminal the opportunity to get a shot off and someone else was injured or killed.
