Edge vs Gen2 Skid mount discrepencies??

Swapping an 02 Vertical Escape 156" rear suspension to my 00 RMK 136". I downloaded the template from JEGS

the template says the skid mounts bolt to bolt are 24-1/8". My bolt to bolt measurement on the skid is almost 32" ??? There's no way that this template is correct for my suspension...This has to be for the short tracks or something.

What am I missing here?

Pretty sure it's for the 121".

Do you have access to the donor tunnel? You could get your dimensions between the two arms from it?

I put a 144 into my Edge that had a 121 and I used one of my RMK's for my model.

Before I did that though I used the 121" dimensions to transfer to my 2000 where the 2002 121" skid went.

Made a stencil out of an aluminum plate and drilled the mouting holes from the back side so that they were in the same relation to the top of the tunnel and setback from the driveshaft.

Yeah Mark, I read a post of yours on your approach...well done and I plan to do that as well. I don't have access to the 156 tunnel anymore but I do have access to a 144 Vertical Escape.....I just can't find any info on this 156 OEM setup.

I figure if I have to I can pull my 136 and lay them side to side to get my cog-1st bolt dimension but it would be nice to have a measurement to know if I was in the ballpark.

Maybe one of the edge guys can measure for me....

Lucky for you my buddies 04 151" was sitting in the front yard. It measures right at 31 inches.

Should be 31 1/8 between the FTA and RTA bolts. I can get you the rest of the tunnel measurements too if you need, I have a 151 and a 159 edge's in my garage waiting for snow.

Susp difference

The gen 2 uses a shorter front arm. The rear skid bolt is the same as your stock one. The edge uses a longer front arm. The front arm lower bolt(on the rail) is the same as the xtra lite. Your front arm upper bolt will be up and forward on the tunnel, not sure how far, but seems the footrest might be in the way. Never mounted an edge in the gen 2, but put edge rails on my gen 2 coil over skid. Use your existing rear mounting position on your tunnel. Measure the 31.." to the front and down from the top whatever an edge is and your golden.

Thanks, found a 02 156 to measure....

Turns out the front skid bolt is same height as my Gen2 but about 1.5" FWD. That puts the rear skid mount about 1.5" further back...
