Looking for an expert opinion... was calibrating my Power Commander V - Throttle Position by using a 12v power supply to the ECU. Played around a bit to make sure my readings were accurate by 'snapping' the throttle a few times for the minimum value and holding open throttle for the max value. Noticed you get slightly different readings with open throttle based on pressure you put on it. Anyway, after I was finished with setting up the PCV I started up the sled and it smoked like crazy. Ran it for about 20-30 seconds and had to shut it down to let the smoke clear in the garage! Is this because I had the ECU powered up without the sled running? Does oil and/or gas make its way through the system with the ECU powered up, but not running the engine and basically builds up until you burn it off? Just curious if this would be normal. --THX.
