EDIT: I cleaned up what magic&mystery posted below....

NOTE: On single-digit codes (2, 4, etc.), the number indicated will flash in an uninterrupted sequence. On double-digit codes (1-2, 1-6, etc.), the
first number indicated will flash in an uninterrupted sequence, there will be a short pause, and the second number indicated will flash in an uninterrupted
sequence. If the coolant temperature is at or above 80° C (176°F), the coolant temperature light will flash a warning(alert). If the coolant temperature is at or above 93° C(200° F), the coolant temperature light will cease flashing and will remain constantly illuminated.

Number of Flashes Trouble

12 - (Check Engine Light) Failure in ignition coil.
16 - (Check Engine Light) Incorrect adjustment/failure in APV cable.
17 - (Check Engine Light) Failure in exhaust temperature sensor.
18 - (Check Engine Light) Failure in servomotor.
2 - (Check Engine Light) Failure in injector(s).
21 - (Check Engine Light) Failure in knock sensor.
23 - (Check Engine Light) Failure in knock control system.
4 - (Check Engine Light) Open or short circuit in barometric pressure sensor.
5 - Open or short circuit in intake air temperature sensor.
6 - Open or short circuit in water temperature sensor.
7 -Open or short circuit in throttle position sensor.
Steady Flash = Coolant Temperature Above 80°C (176° F).
Constant On = Coolant Temperature Above 93°C (200° F

31 - Stator failure (input open or shorted).
32 - High power DC output deactivated (headlight/handwarmer).
33 - High power DC output shorted (headlight/handwarmer).
34 - Low power DC output deactivated (gauge/taillight/APV valves).
35 - Low power DC output shorted(gauge/taillight/APV valves).
36 - System under voltage(below 11 volts).
37 - System over voltage. (above 15.5 volts).
38 - Gear shift actuator failure(over current or over temperature).
42 - Tachometer input failure (engine running-no tachometer signal present).
43 - Gear position switch failure (did not change-no (or invalid)position input).
44 - CCU over temperature (above 105° C - 221° F)

Don't really have any info to post on this topic. Just wanted to say Hi Hatchers :D

Diagnostic Codes/

Check Engine
(Crossfire/F-Series/
M-Series Models)
These diagnostic codes are flashed by the check engine
light incorporated within the speedometer/tachometer.
Refer to the following chart for diagnostic code
sequences.
NOTE: On single-digit codes (2, 4, etc.), the number
indicated will flash in an uninterrupted
sequence. On double-digit codes (1-2, 1-6, etc.), the
first number indicated will flash in an uninterrupted
sequence, there will be a short pause, and the second
number indicated will flash in an uninterrupted
sequence.

sequence, there will be a short pause, and
the second number indicated will flash in an uninterrupted
sequence.

hey

mine flashes "your screwed" every once in awhile. :D Damn, got the bdx intake and the sticker is gone now.

Mine, comes on just every once in a while. Flashes twice then a pause, then flashes twice again. If i shut it off it will be ok for 20 minutes or all day. Not sure what to do?? Any ideas?? It runs fine no matter what, am i damageing anything?? Do i need to get it to a dealer?? thanks

Thanks for the post guys, what if the wrench light stays on with no flashes and thats it no check engine lights. If turned off and restarted it goes away? This is for a 07M8

Good thread, but now what. My M1000 light is on all the time from when it starts until I stop it. I replaced the temp sensor, but still have the light.

The best one ever was a guy calling about 2 weeks ago. He has a 2008 M1000 and said he had a code coming up on the dash. It was an H.....O.....T....code. Any idea what this could mean?

Any ideas as to what 5, 05 then 55 means? I got that one a few times. I really have very little idea... what the 05 and 55 could be.

I figure it must have something to do with my Attitude fuel controller.

Any idea what those codes are?

First ride out on an 08 F8 and I got CCU flashing when I tried putting the sled in reverse, and the sled would not go into reverse. I also got the temp warning, would this be related?

Ok i did away with the pipe temp sensor but i get the ecu 17 code any ways? should i be getting this with that resistor in there?

'VOLT' flashing

Had this posted before but has never been sorted out. The word 'VOLT' flashes from time-to-time but no performance losses. Took it in, dealer basically has no idea what is wrong. Cant get any answers from Cat. Weird.... tried asking the common sense questions like maybe voltage regulator and mechanic says he doesnt think so....they won't warranty anything until it breaks down or has an actual failure...

Makes you wonder.Any ideas?

The wrench light stays on while ecu is detecting something out of its parameters. To see what code was thrown you need to plug in a ccu diagnostic harness to get the gauge to flash your ccu codes.
