ECM update question?

I am just wondering if the dealer can do the update on my '08 m1k if I take him just the ECM? The dealer is in a different town and would be much easier to take just the computer. Also, just to be sure. The ECM is the black box mounted on top of the airbox, correct?

Also, what else was updated on the M1k? I think there were also some intake and exhaust upgrades. Can I do those myself, or does the dealer have to do those?

If your sled is running good i would not do it. My 08 1000 was running good. Then i did the update and now i am trying to mess with it to try and get it to run proper again. It is running really rich on the bottom and midrange.

Man, now im torn! My sled does run good. But when I talked to my dealer, he recomended it, and he is a reputible tuner and someone I trust. That is why i thought I would go ahead and have it done. But I dont know, maybe I will hold off since I would hate to ruin a good thing. And, why try and fix what isnt broken I guess. Looks like the ECM is going back in
