A guy has for sale a Nytro with an Eckholm skid on it. is this a good skid? was it meant for climbing or boondocking? Is it lighter \ better than stock?, Are they durable? Any info or opionions are appreciated,

my friend has one on a mountain max. although the rear end feels really light its rough on the trail, keeps breaking limiter straps, bent a rail (could be driver error)

he said he found a eckholm 162 nytro. dont remember where in alberta he was from. he was waitin for a phone call.

That's the same one I was looking at. Did he give you a price already? I'm not going to buy now after all, just wondering cause I was interested in it as well.

Anybody else seen these. I'm getting a bad feeling about this brand of skid. I'm a jumper so I don't want something that can't take a beating.. I'm all ears to other comments...

Who in the yammy world would maybe know about these skids..

just talked to a guy at ABS Power in Edmonton, says they're junk, he had one and it broke a few times and not good on the trail. says the stock skid can be made to work quite well with some kits available.. got my answer, thx gents..:beer;

Yeah if you jump, steer clear. Great climbing skid, love it for my application(lightweight 2stroke) but definately not made for a beating. Although I doubled my dad outta the Big Iron after we had to leave is sled on the hill in 2006. Didn't break anything on that trail(if you were there....you know)

I haven't broken any limiter straps, but I've had my issues with the transfer rods and balljoints. And if the shocks haven't been re-valved, they need to be.

Love the skid but won't be under my new sled.

Cool, that's what ihave been hearing as well, not a skid you want to spend money on, that nitro come with the stock skid as well, so if you want you could buy the sled, put the stock skid back in and sell the Eckholm. Make some cash off of it at least.

yup lots of probs with bolts coming lose & parts braking + they are not being made anymore so parts may be hard to come by.:beer;

It definately helps knowing various machinists :D

Considering all the issues I had.....it works great now, perfect for my sled.

I like turbos.........very nice. (Borat)

I told you one ride on boost and you would be hooked.

I have an older one. I have run it for several years with no major problems. Ended up jb welding the bolts in though.:eek: I don't beat on mine, but I ride it hard. No broken or bent parts.

I got a swap lined up with another nytro soI'm going that route.. thx boys!!:D:beer; Soon I'll be turboed!!!!!

lol, another one ruined. hahahaha
You need an MCX Nytro with a Racers Edge skid. You can easily adjust for climbing or boondocking ;)
