Ebay, what would you do?

I have been thinking. I am going to take this as a lesson and learn from it. Honestly I think he was really trying to help this lady out.

I am going to have the crank rebuilt. Then I know for sure what I have and it should last quite a long time. I have already bought the bearings anyway, and thanks to Highmark I will save a little money on the cost of the rod kits.

Since I am going to keep the bottom end I will leave him a fair (pos) feed back but I am going to let people know the shipping took a long time and that the product was not in the shape I thought it would be.

After all he sells some real nice stuff from what I have seen in his feedbacks. Who knows, maybe I will end up buying from him again someday or vice versa. You never know what you will need when you are in need and who will have it.

Thanks to everyone for your help and honesty!

I talked with my friend and they offered to throw in carbs and a team secondary clutch or he could send it back for a refund to make him happy I havent got any response. My business is all word of mouth and I try very hard to keep all my customers happy. He didnt ask for money back nor a refund before posting negitive things about me. I have no problem doing either one.

That's why I would never sell anything on Ebay that wasn't mine unless I looked it over myself and described it myself. It's your *** on the line because it's your auction and your feedback will be affected.

Thank you for responding to my request here on snowest. Since you have not answered any of my pm here on snowest for the last 3 weeks!

I received your email with your offer at 5:56 pm today 6/6/08. I got home at 7:30pm so I just read it.

As for the negitive things I posted, they are just the truth. I have 10 other emails from the last 3 weeks to prove it. And the pictures speek for themselves.

No, I have not asked for a refund or for you to take it back because I didn't know what I should do with it. I have only had it 3 days now anyway. Although I have emailed you 3 or 4 times letting you know the shape of the bottom end. You never told me until now that I could send it back and you would refund my money.

I just posted this on snowest for advice.

I already have the crank bearings bought to rebuild the crank. And I am ordering two new rod kit for the crank. It will be mailed to slp next week.

Thanks for tring to make it right. That is all I wanted in the first place. As for the carbs and clutch, you do what you think is right! I'm over it and moving on.

Having a fair amount of experience with ebay, I think mr cowboy handled this quite calm. Could have went a whole 'nother direction and got quite a bit uglier, most people wouldn't care what the excuse was, if it wasn't what was stated in the emails and auction there would have been demands for their money back, negative feedback, bashing, etc..

Hopefully this doesn't turn ugly, I wouldn't think twice about doing business with either fella just by what I read here.

I asked you before now what you wanted me to do and didnt get a responce only a message that you posted pics here. Now I have lost sales due to this.

You emailed me and told me that You didn't know what I wanted you to do. And that Action Motor Sports told you it was worth $400 so that is what you posted it at.

I asked you, If you thought $400 was a fair price then. And maybe I should take it to them and let them tell me what it was worth.

You hurt your sales by selling the bottom end in the first place.

Oh, and when I asked you if you were a business you told me no! That you were just selling it for a friend!

So if you are not a business how are you losing sales????????/

Not selling it threw my business was doing it for a friend but made an offer on our behalf to make it right I have many satisfied customers and intend to try and keep it that way like I said if it is as bad as you say send it back and I will return your money plus shipping. Thats all I can do.

bingo.

JC, if I were you I would take this as a lesson. you ended up with a calm buyer. every time you sell somethin make dern sure you describe it AS IS. if you do not know for sure.....say that, and expect to see the results in the bids you get.

cowboy, you have nothing to be ashamed of.

JC, I would just say I am sorry and let it be. everyone makes a mistake, how you handle it is WAY more important than the mistake itself.

Thanks, but I have my own time in it now, Tearing it down and as I said above I have already paid for the bearings. And have made plans to send the crank to be rebuilt. As for making it right! I said in the above post that I would take this as a lesson learned and move on.

You said you could send out the carbs and the team clutch to make it right. I told you that I was moving on and to do what you thought was right.

So Now, if you are going to make it right, send me the carbs and clutch.

As I told you in the email I sent you. I will leave you a Positive feedback either way! I am keeping the bottom end and you have been good to work things out.

Just wanted to chime in here and say that i have always received excellent service from jcsports. I hate to see his business suffer because of something he was selling personally and for a friend. Sometimes you take a friends word for things, and that's what seems like happened here. When you asked if he was a business, he was right in replying no, because he wasn't doing it for profit. JCSports has helped me out last minute, several times when i couldn't get help elsewhere. All I'm saying is try out JCSports for yourself, don't judge by this thread. It obviously was an accident that seems to be getting corrected at his business's expense. I personally will buy from him again, Cause he's alot easier to deal with than most other places i've bought parts.
