Eagle River, AK

thanks guys. It gives me a head start on the search. If I make it up, I'll give a shout to catch a burger and frosty....Say, do I have to pull a front tooth to live up there?;):beer;:D

Only if you live in Butte! HAHAHA

If Eagle River is "the best of the best" then you need to get out more. I started living there on 1961. Used to be able to ride from my parents house and go in any direction. Can't do that anymore. I moved north when they put the first stoplight in and haven't looked back. Now I ride from my house on the Knik river.

bwahahahahahahahahaha:eek:

my ten cents...

Eagle River or South Anchorage are the best options(school/neighborhood wise). If you move to the valley what you save in housing costs you will inevitably end up paying the opportunity cost in the cab of your vehicle driving the gauntlet twice daily if you work in anchorage. If you work in the valley or on the slope those prices suddenly become more appealing. You guys that live in the valley and make that daily commute... my hats off to you, i don't know how u do it.

Too bad they don't build that bridge to Point Mac... thats where i would live if it ever happened. I guess i helped build that road through the swamps and to the port out there for no reason last summer.

LOL, I noticed its a bit sketch out there!

I drive to anchorage every day from the valley, and Trav I have to agree it sucks bad, especially working construction almost always 7 days a week. Im burnt out for sure, But winters coming soon boys! I can only hope I get laid off for the season.

Eagle River or Chugiak would be your best bet, the Valley is too far for a daily commute plus your going to a sales tax whereas in ER and Chugiak you will not, only property taxes. Houses can be spendy but it all depends on what your looking for, we bought a ranch style home 2 car garage on a lot just under an acre for less that $250,000. ER does need a few more restaurants but other than that, I couldn't think of a better place to live.

MAN!!!! You are making ME hungry!!!

They should def build a Buffalo Wild Wings!!!!!!!:beer;

But the damn town council will not let any "franchised" resturants in the town other than fast-food:mad:

I have to agree it would be nice to ride from our front doors here in ER, but that's the price we pay to live in a place as AWESOME as this!!!

Personally, I do not care for Pizza Man and in particular, their pizza's. Being from the east coast it's hard to find a pizza joint that makes a really good pie. Only place that even comes close is Bella Vista in Chugiak, their pepperoni pizza is the real deal. I think you guys like Pizza Man because they have those ginormous beers!;)

Ginormous beers makes everything taste better!!

pizza man is all about the lunch special ladies and gents... can't beat it. The sandwiches are pretty good, and the salad bar is notable aswell.

Scooners are def. a nice touch.
