Here is one for ya -
Got lazy and left my XP in the back of the truck for a couple of days early this week, where it got rained on before I put the cover over it. Was hoping to go riding again, but didn't get the chance. Fast forward to today, where I went to pull the sled out of the truck to put it in the shop, and it wouldn't start. Oh crap, I figure that somehow the battery went dead. Started right up with the recoil, and after I warmed it up, went to hit reverse. Nothing. What the heck??! I am thinking. Pulled sled out of the truck the hard way. Back is pissed off now, I'm too old for this!
So... I start checking things. Battery, fully charged. Fuses ok. Pulled the switch assy apart, didn't find any water, but stuck it by the furnace for a few hours anyway. Still didn't work. Started digging deeper, checking wire connections. All connections were still heavily coated in dielectric grease. Everything SEEMS dry, but I left connectors unhooked to see if maybe some moisture in there will dry out.
Has anybody had this happen? What am I overlooking? I am hoping that if it is water related, and I tend to think that is what it is, it will dry out in a few days.
Help me out, I am lazy and need my E-start and RER!!
