E Mod rivet replacement

Need to put in a new Emod, what have people been using for rivet replacements on the large conicle style rivets?

engine module probably needs a harder tensile strength than stainless... but maybe not thats why I'm asking I'm just not sure. Have you used them in replacing any module replacements?

I've done a couple and you can order the correct rivet from doo when replacing the module. I think they call them Stavex rivets #293150144

But the tool to install them is very very expensive.

You can buy bolts and flanged nylon nuts to replace the rivets. Your doo dealer should be able to tell you which ones to use and buy. But be prepared. The nylon flanged nuts are over $3 each. It does work well though.

Dealer has no clue I asked him first. are you using grade 8 with a flanged nut/nylock how about washers on each side and a nylock.

The parts breakdown shows a brp part number for a replacment bolt and flanged nut. Tell your dealer to look again. They are expensive to buy from the dealer. I don't think a grade 8 is necessary, Grade 5 6mm bolts with a flanged nylock nut should be fine. A grade 8 bolt is stronger but it is also more brittle and tend to break rather than strech.

sorry about that, The bolts doo uses are a 6x20mm flanged bolt and a flanged nyloc nut. When you order the s module, the nuts and bolts are suppose to come with the module as a kit. For some strange reason the nuts and bolts are not part of the kit for the e module.

s module is for the shocks (suspension)

Have you called any tool rental places? There's gotta be someplace that has bought surplus equipment from Boeing.
