i want a can with decent sound so i thought about the big core barker but i've heard that it loses around 4 hp. would the standard give me good sound w/o the hp loss?

dyno port

I saw a chart that showed the big core barker gained hp in the top end, but lost back pressure throughout. as far as wich can to buy rich daily said the barker burns out quicker because of less insulated packing. i am going with the y pipe, pipe, and quieter can for longevity.

What elevation? I had a Barker on my 04, lost power and was stupid loud. Sold it and went with SLP--stock power and quiet--still lost 7# You have to be careful about HP ratings on cans 'cause too much back pressure loss = HP loss at altitude (8,000+). Had good luck with the Dynoport Mountain Can also.

had an 06 summitx 800 with a big core barker and felt like it gained a little on top. never noticed a power loss on the bottom. sounded awesome to boot. matt

mbrp can

Tests have shown that alot of aftermarket cans do lose hp and only 2 cans wre found to show gains, the HPS silencer and MBRP. I like HPS because it is ceramic coated and it isnt very loud but has a deep tone.

I have a big core om my 08 146" and it's not too loud. As far as going with the quieter can can for the longgevity that's rediculous. all the packing is going to blow out in a very short time anyway so who cares. And if your buying a can for horsepower you should look at other options because for that money you can buy better performance thaN A CAN.

which can

I would have to say that the hps can would be the way to go because one my buddies put one on his xp and it pulls harder along with less loading up on hills. has a good low tone rumble. i know when i get my xp broke in that is the way i am going to go..:)
