In case anyone is interested, if you go on www.hardcoresledder.com, in the Firecat/CrossfireR Forum is a post from Bikeman Performance of a 2010 Crossfire 800 motor stock vs. y-pipe vs. single pipe w/y-pipe (155hp/163hp/170hp).

800

I think the stock HP was 157.5.It is good that a pipe and can manufacturer is showing a dyno sheet, then you have a better idea on what you are buying.

so what you are saying is the 2010 with pipe set is the same hp as the 09 with the slp performance package . If that is the case there is going to be alot of unhappy people out there expecting more .

horsepower can fool ya

the older M8 wooped and the new 010 while they may show the same or similar dyno numbers, you may find the 010 a nicer motor to own cause:

010 has lighter crank and will pick revs much quicker than the older motor and with less clutching perfection will likely out excellerate the older sleds with equal hp............and big bonus, the lighter crank sled..read 010 " feels more agile " due to the less reciprocating crank mass.

the hp gains on the new 010 were made with still mild porting /low compression / conservative pipe...........meaning its easy to woop more with not much money on the 010

comparing the three dyno sheets for the new 010 and 4 or 5 dyno test reports on older m8 with pipe /y pipe / porting in the same 155 range , the new 010 motor has a broader power band with the same 155' ish hp numbers.

in 010 there is not going to be anything unique about having a 155-160 hp sled in the m chassis..............just that its going to be a stock motor, easier to ride, less $$$$ spent, no fooling around, all around lighter better feeling package for basiclly the same $$ we spent years back on way less sled.
Thats the world moving forward..........an inch at a time.

I doubt your going to find many people complaining about a stock 800 making anywhere from 158-162 HP depending on where it was dyno'd. The most impressive part is that many thought that this motor was potentially "Maxed out", and a Pipe/Y-Pipe combo wouldn't do anything.......Regardless of your opinions on Bikeman Performance they are reporting 170 HP on a stock M8 with only a bolt on Y-Pipe and Pipe. Now I would like to see what the others come up with, and a Dyno Sheet is just that...a sheet...I wanna hear about the real world testing when the snow hits the ground. For those who bought a 2010 M8, slap on a Pipe/Y-pipe, and hopefully getting 170 HP......There will be A Lot of Smiles!

This seems to be a pretty exciting motor

Dyno teck has a 2010 f8 same motor on dyno 163hp. So we have 158, 159, 163hp on different dyno's Not bad.

I think the difference could be the F8 has a different stock pipe than the xf/m sleds, so that is where guys claim there could be a slight difference in the two.

You are right different exaust and intake but they were within a couple hp on 2009 models

The F chassis has been 3-4 HP over the M's for a couple years. Will be interesting to see these sleds on the snow, stock and with y-pipes/pipes/mufflers to see how they run.

I agree, After looking at this post I wanted to see what D&D had to offer, looks like the 5.5 HP with just a Y might be ok w/o fuel controller. I would love to run the Single, Y, and can without a controller.......I might be dreaming though!

I must say I was really Impressed with the power I gained on my M7 with a D&D Single, Y, and a Skinz can. I am hoping for a simialr boost in power on my 2010 M8, the only thing is that I did not need a controller for my M7 and it looks like i might need one on my M8.

^^^Ditto on the Y-pipe! If I can get 5 hp from just the Y and no controller I will be all over that! :beer;
