Joey,
What is your opinion on why these engines loose power over time? Lost compression due to bad pistons?
Too much skirt load created by high rod angles with short piston skirts. This condition puts a lot of force on the lower edge of the skirt and top edge by the ringland causing premature wear and failure
So BMP web site claims a 6hp gain. The way I am seeing it is a 6hp gain over a 2012 with 1800 miles on it. If a new stock motor is 150-152hp that's only a few extra hp gain correct. Maybe they should specify that on the web site as to what it is a 6hp gain over or did I miss something.Good Question, a new motor would typically make around 150-152 HP so there is a slight increase in power due to corrected case volume.
He said brand new peak HP is 148-152. The dyno numbers show a peak of 155.9 with the kit. That means a 6 HP gain over a brand new stock motor.
If you think the stock 800 puts out 150hp, think again. Most get dynoed to around 143hp, at the most.
Thanks. Sounds goodI will install my durability kit next weekend an maybe try it...
So i can give some feedback next week.
