Dyno Results BMP Durability kit for Polaris 800 CFI's

Joey,

What is your opinion on why these engines loose power over time? Lost compression due to bad pistons?

Too much skirt load created by high rod angles with short piston skirts. This condition puts a lot of force on the lower edge of the skirt and top edge by the ringland causing premature wear and failure

So, a sloppy short piston basically rocks back and forth, putting too much force on the top and the bottom of the piston. Interesting, thanks for the insight.

Good Question, a new motor would typically make around 150-152 HP so there is a slight increase in power due to corrected case volume.
So BMP web site claims a 6hp gain. The way I am seeing it is a 6hp gain over a 2012 with 1800 miles on it. If a new stock motor is 150-152hp that's only a few extra hp gain correct. Maybe they should specify that on the web site as to what it is a 6hp gain over or did I miss something.

He said brand new peak HP is 148-152. The dyno numbers show a peak of 155.9 with the kit. That means a 6 HP gain over a brand new stock motor.

If you think the stock 800 puts out 150hp, think again. Most get dynoed to around 143hp, at the most.

Isnt it all relative? If there dyno shows 148-152 and then same dyno show 156 then that shows the difference correct?

Or do you want to start the typical hp war on how much the motor makes that is over played every single year on this site.
MY Brothers uncles sister dad said on his dyno its the best ever made in the world and his read ........

Anyone got this bmp durability kit installed yet. Does it take the vibration away at idle. Thinking this or the rkt direct replacement pistion for the 2011 pro. Just about out of warranty.

BMP 860 W/ durability kit

Got out on my 13 860 with durability kit. Smooth idle, no pro vibration & gobs of go! Climbs made pushing my stocker, had to let off on the 860.. Gaining to much ground speed has now became an issue....:face-icon-small-ton
