Dumb people with Avy bags

Ski doo rep

Norona is the guy that rides all the sleds before you know they exist for ski doo... He's their big time rep and one heck of a nice guy... Let me ride his 850 this year and treat it worse than my sled...you might want to do your homework a little first...you would probably get better responses from people if you were more personable and not so short or sounding like you taught Chris Burandt to ride or something... As far as AV bags go I wouldn't count on anything saving your life in a serious Avalanche however being prepared and upping the odds with good gear can help.

Lmao I've been riding longer than you been alive.

Bullying? wow that kind of pisses me off, you think my original comment is bullying. Wtf are you guys a bunch of girls or something? You have 17 likes off of this comment you made, Idc about people's feelings when it comes to the truth. What do you work for Abs or they sponsor you or something? Abs had huge back pack recalls, google it it's right at the top!! Like I said when I posted 50/50 comment which is exactly how someone should feel when wearing one BECAUSE ABS HAS A HISTORY OF PEOPLE BEING BURIED WHILE WEARING ABS PACKS CUZ THEY WOULDNT DEPLOY. That's why they had a big recall and hopefully got sued for selling faulty junk. You can't be that stupid to not know Abs has had a lot of failures can you? Idk how new to the sport you are Norona but this post is bar far your worst and it got 17 thanks and a guy that says he's never had problems in 10 years. I'm so sick of the "I've never had it happen to me comment" therefore it doesn't exist bs. Sorry if real life experience hurts you guys little feelings but I'd rather Tell the truth about crap then worry about Sensitive Sally's.

Yes I have worked with ABS for over 10 years which is why I know a lot about the packs as well as all the other avy packs as I test with them. Yes there have been 2 recalls for abs and we are lucky since both of them have been in europe, where one of the recall has been huge, the problem was not huge but the company went way beyond what they needed to do to make it right, crap happens for sure, the second was also in europe and some of those issues/bags made their way into North America. They have also been solved and no one was killed due to any of these recalls, which is the most important. I would still like to know how you come up wth a 50/50 chance with your experience, as well as what bag you believe is best and why you trust it, that would be more helpful. Describing the entire unit of choice and how you reset it.

Yes you can pull the handle with the velcro strap attached, however i do not and never have endorsed that, that video shown is quite old and you can choose to remove the strap from around the handle and reattach so that it does not get ice build up in the it, or release the velcro and re attach the strap so it looks like it is on but leave a small gap so the handle can be pulled, it is only a 2mm pull required to set the pneumatic charge off so it may look like the telco is in the safety mode but there is a space to be pulled. And all though I agree that a person will pull through the telco i also agree that why leave any margin for error if by chance you could not, so removing the strap entirely or leaving a gap are your two best practices....

I can have any pack I want and I have worked with this company for this many years because i believe in it. This is how anyone should choose their specific any pack, by doing their homework and knowing how the whole process works from start to finish and reloading it, I would agree many do not and I try and put as much out there so people can learn and be better educated. Your statements don't help, they just cast blame and that does not help people solve issues. It seems like you have lots of energy and if you really want to help people out then that is great, it just seems your going about it the wrong way. Like the previous person said, you definitely will get better traction if you help people, rather than calling them idiots for not doing something the way you do things. Remember what you say is a reflection of how you feel about and how you see your self, and you are proving that each time you post. You may be the best sledder out there, but more people care about how you are as an individual towards others that how you ride. Have a great summer, it seems you need it.

Wow see NwAxys how sales works. Guess I had my facts straight already eh... Norona you talk about abs having recalls like its a faulty brake switch on a ford. Lets get what the truth is REAL Straight-People have bought ABS Avy packs brand new, been in serious Avys pulled the cord and nothing happened except they got buried with that worthless weight on their back. We could state it in another way, every recall was a counted as a dead person so how many total recalls were there worldwide? As for your other comments, my ways work great for me I'll stick with em. If you don't like the Hearing the truth in life, I'm not the guy to talk to. 50/50 was plenty generous odds

Not sure what the issue has been with your friends bags, you don't seem to either, however if they still own them, they are welcome to have them send me the serial numbers, and we can check them via if they fall into any recall which should have been caught, and sent in for service and any upgrade to current standard. There has been no problem of the pneumatic handle not working, if it has then we deinately want to see that bag and handle, if it is a bag with the velcro that is to strong, which we have seen in a very small number here in North America, well there is a fix as well that was recalled awhile ago, every big air bag manufacture to date has had a recall, i am not saying that is a good thing but it can and does happen, the important thing is that every bag is caught and fixed for the consumer. I am an athlete with the company, and actually do care about the safety, which is why i have armed myself with the knowledge of all airbags and work shows and do videos so people know how to use air bags properly and especially with ABS because it is the one I choose to put on my back. Filling people with false information and not backing it up can be deadly as well, I would encourage you to have your friends send those bags in and i will personally handle it and have David(not me but the best guy)in our warehouse work on them. Totally fine if you have moved onto another product and enjoy that, as the most important pack is the one you trust and like, however hopefully you did not sell a bag you thought was faulty because that would just not be cool. I won't engage in arguing with you any longer, it is easy to pm me with details and we can work on having any of those bags or bag dialled in properly or if they just want to set them off to ensure they work properly, I can replace the handle and canister, easy to do. cheers dave

I thought I was really clear a few times. Let me separate my sentences and individualize the facts.
Facts
1. Friends had new abs packs.
2. Friends get in Avy and all pull pack to deploy and they had faulty triggers/pull cord seized up.
3. Friends buried in avy.
4. Send pack back to abs to fix,
5. Abs Recalls packs
6. 1500psi never buying Abs product ever
7. I'm not the only one that thinks this and is never buying/wearing one because of this.

Non facts/opinions
1. Abs deploys when you need it to at 50/50 who actually knows cuz I don't know anyone it's actually saved..
2. Even stating to me about selling a faulty pack to someone else is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Abs already did that Fyi
3. I've never heard of any other pack not deploying when needed in real life and being buried.
4. Real life facts are more important than anything you read.

There is no pull cord in the abs pack. It is A pneumatic handle, it has a 22 caliber charge in the handle that when pulled fires air through the hose and pushes pin into bottle. So it is still unclear what the issue is, and I understand you may not k ow what the issue was. Understand if a pack did not work for you clearly. And yes snow pulse, bca and pieps have had recalls, initially snow pulse bags deployed from the pull cord being too tight, and both bca and snowpulse had initial issues with cords that were to hard to pull and yes people were caught in these sceneries, however both companies worked hard to fix and improve to current models. It seems your being vague on your packs or don't know rounder stand the real issue that they had, all packs come back to the wharehouse in bc from North America so we them all.

I'm being Vague Lmfao. I gave you multiple names for activating the bag.
Funny how you want to pick on how the bag is activated instead of the "fact" that people have been buried after deploying their abs packs that didn't work when activated.. You know what I'm saying is true and you are knit picking pointless parts of the topic to deflect what the truth actually is. You know for a fact Abs had issue with the bags deploying when needed and people got buried in those situations and that's why you didn't address that and choose to pick on the activation topic.

Let's be more specific. The ABS firing issue was random steel canisters with the seal disks doubled up, filled between 2008 and early 2010. There was a recall with specific canister fill date ranges. There were documented cases where the bags would not deploy in testing.

Only in testing can the non-firing of a bag be considered a fact. In actual use in the field, a non-fire because of the bag is always anecdotal (a story) - only after the non-fire event in the field, where the non-fire can be confirmed and investigated, can the non-fire attributable to the bag be considered a fact. That includes cable-bags, too, which have had recalls and documented icing issues.

All the rest is just stories, opinions, internet BS. Yep, some bags haven't fired, either in testing or in the field. Most do. A bag is just another tool, and sometimes tools don't work. Best tool most of you have is your brain. It's never as simple as bag=bad, or ABS=junk. Back to that brain thing again.

Thats kind of confusing but atleast you said some truths. It is fact and was confirmed by Abs when it happened if it wasn't there wouldn't be a recall. Manufactured don't recall anything because of Internet bs back to that brain thing again.Where there's smoke there's always fire.

I have never seen an ABS failure in the 11yrs I used them, which included 13 deployments of my own, all successful.

In that same time I have seen I think 6 failures of other brands, usually involving partially filled bags due to poor canister pressure, and one broken handle.

That is just my small group, but a lot of years and pretty out of balance stats which leads me to place a lot of faith in the ABS system.
