I just completed a Droped chaincase on a 07 to run 8 tooth and 3 inch track.we will know soon how she runs

Drop and rolls are usually a lot of work. I did a 3 down 3 1/2 back on my zx and it worked well. It definately helps in the deep pow. On the rev chassis if im not mistaken, the only way to do a roll is to lengthen or buy a new chaincase because there isnt room in the chassis to put the jackshaft inside the tunnel like a traditional drop + roll. Very expensive to buy a new chaincase. I helped a friend install an avid chaincase on an xp to run a 3" track and honestly I dont think it was worth it so far. I would put the money toward a 860 or something in the horsepower dept. but thats just my opinion.

Drop'd and Roll'd an 05, it was a lot of work but I am happy with it. I did not notice any handling changes but it allowed me to put a CE track on. And my jackshaft is under the tunnel.

I did not use a kit and no I did not remove the foot rests. I had to modify the parts on both sides but they were reinstalled afterward. The belt gaurd sits nice and close to the secondary as well.

That's the XP chassis you're thinking of. You have to get an extended chaincase. Drop and rolls use the factory chaincase on revs.

VanAmburg has a kit for the REV chassis that has all the templates you need to reuse your stock chain case and Yes the shaft will run threw the tunnel.

The jackshaft in the tunnel is a problem. You need a longer chaincase to run a 3 inch with 8 tooth, or paddles will hit jackshaft, That does work for a 2.5

Specialty sleds also has a kit to drop + roll with stock chaincase and jackshaft inside the tunnel. I'm not much of a fan of it though. You can see in their pictures that you move the bracket in front of the foot loops back 3-4 inches. I did that on my old sled and it sucked for jumping. You couldn't put your feet up in as far and I felt like my feet were slipping out all the time. If all you do is hill climb probably wouldn't be bad though.

I used the Straightline chaincase and not made any longer, Another option is Tom,s will extend stock chaincase for a fraction of the cost.

That's odd, it says right in the description that it requires a longer chain. If that's really the case it should be longer center to center especially for that kind of money.

,,If you simply lower the jackshaft and axle ,the same chaincase is used. If you go to a longer chaincase the jackshaft does not need altered.there is no one making a extended chaincase now for the Rev. Straightline said they would make a batch if there were 10 each who wanted them.,

I just finished a VA drop and roll on my 06 rev, put on a 3" CE.
Track does not touch the jack shaft.
Still waiting on the deep stuff to see if it was worth it,
It was quite the project!

Good bye XP's!!!
Apples for Apples, biggest bang for the buck on a Rev, IF, you're a deep powder guy.
Depending on how far you drop your skid down & back, will really make you smile in the deep! Lot's of tunnel clearance / snow evac. = track speed, gets up on the snow like you wouldn't believe. Front end stays down better on the long STEEP pulls.
