Driveshaft Problem With Pic

Bearings are to light shafts are Stainless Steel and to soft. Bearings are being sideloaded that causes failures. Make new shafts out of 4140 machine bearing housings to except 5205 bearing no more failures.

So I cut apart one of the bearings and the races, in particular the inner race, are really badly pitted. This bearing was FULL of grease so the greasing system is working for sure, it never got dry. Is this just that they are overloaded or what? The ball bearings looked pretty good from what I could see.

Its the side loading. The sleds have a bulkhead up front that adds major strength. These kits have a couple slices of 1/4 aluminum side plates. Not well engineered. Hopefully the 2015 retro kits help with rigidity and strength on our old kits.
