Driver question?

I have an 09 D8 and i was looking at putting anti ratchet drivers on it because i cant run my track very loose without ratcheting even with the middle driver on it. The question i have is i looked at the driver shaft and it looks like the splines dont go far enough down the shaft to make the new drivers work?
Is there a special driver i have to get?
or how will this work?

I included pics of what im seeing on my sled. I hope they work:face-icon-small-con

Thanks

Get rid of the center driver and tighten the track as per your owners manual and your problem will be solved. That center driver causes the track to skid when ice and snow build up between the three drivers because they are so close together and then the two outer drivers which are actually pulling your track around can't ride on the track properly. Also, why do you want to run your track so loose? There is no need for that anymore.

i agree on pulling out the center driver, but not on running the track tight. the tighter your track is the more "rolling resistance" your sled has to overcome, ie robbed power because its harder to spin the track.

take a peek at what Robbie from Avid Products has to say about this

The Avid drivers exvolute teeth are offset from the splines so you don't have to worry about that. They work very well. I would recommend an anti-stab kit from Ice Age and trimming of the rails with the driver change.

i planned on doing the anti stab and trimming the rails for sure. I am looking at a set of drivers that arent offset. would these work at all?
or do i have to go with the offset ones from avid?

I have no idea the type of drivers you are talking about. Maybe if you post a picture of them? What brand, size, pitch, tooth count are they? Were they on an IQ 2005-2010 Driveshaft previously?

these are the exact ones im looking at. I believe that they are avid combos, 2.86 pitch 8tooth

I have these on my 09 RMK. The left goes over and covers some of the non-splined area. FYI, I had to remove the chaincase to get the shaft in, maybe due to me being a newbie to installing these. Look up my summer project thread.

Those are the Avid drivers!
I helped install those on friends sled. The left one is only splined on the right half.
These make a big difference and he would have used those on his Pro if they would have fit.

Well i went ahead and got them. So my next question is what is the best way to get them on and aligned on the shaft right?
